“For a go-to place, this is it!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2013

You will probably wait, but it is worth the wait. Food is reasonable, service is good & prices are very good for South Florida. I had the bang bang chicken tacos & they were excellent. A typical Friday's type place with some different dishes. My wife had the fresh fish, Mahi & it was very good as well.

“Just Not That Special”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2013

OK, first of all this is a sports bar thru&thru. Seating inside is very uncomfortable - booths are too narrow unless you're a skinny thing, high seat tables cut your thighs in half because they're too high, and the few regular tables only seat 2, but on the plus side all seating has views of multiple widescreen TVs played a variety of sporting events. The food is just average at best, and the waitress we had wasn't very familiar with the menu nor the selection of beers -- a real no-no for a well run restaurant.

We had raw clams on the halfshell (very tastey & fresh), lobster bisque (very bland and tasteless), ribs (ho hum), seafood pasta (nice selection of seafood and good taste), Margaritas (yuk-fire the bartender!), and shrimp scampi (ok but overcooked).

All in all, with the selection of other restaurants around, "Just Average" just isn't good enough - oh, and dinner for 2 cost us about $75. We probably won't be back, but who knows, maybe they just had a bad night, you should check it out for yourself - just don't go with too high expectations!

“No one was impressed with the food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 30, 2013

Not a bad place at all and a really cool atmosphere for everyone. This is very much a sports bar that serves food. Four of us had dinner (2 couples, 20's and 40's age bracket) but none of us were impressed whatsoever with the food. Not that it was bad but it was just not all that impressive. I had a seafood bisque that was marginal at best and not hot, just all cream and not much substance. If it were not for the oyster crackers I don't think I would have finished it. Two of us had a dozen steamers. They were small, many of the shells were cracked and broken. The butter sauce, however was very good. Those that had meat and seafood were not thrilled with their meals either. I asked for hot boneless wings and they were mild. I don't send food back, I just eat it how it is delivered. I would go back but probably just for fried bar food.

“We had a good time”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

Ale House is a sports bar with a great relaxed atmosphere, tv's everywhere, music playing, cold beer and the food was good. Our waitress Dawnella was top notch. She was very attentive to our requests and very pleasant. Even though I don't normally eat fried foods, we tried the zingers as an appetizer and they were good. Good mix of older and younger people. We will go back!

“Date Night”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 6, 2013

My husband had no plans for a recent Sat. night & we hadn't been to The Ale House in quite a while. It never disappoints & is always busy. We waited at the bar for our table, had a glass of wine & a beer, and shared a dozen delicous oysters. The bar is crowded & fun. Friendly bartender and we chatted with the people around us. When our table was ready, we enjoyed delicious burgers and sweet potato fries. We returned last week & again shared oysters (we really like them) and, this time, we both ordered fajitas, one chicken & one beef. They were served sizzling hot and were delicious. We took home the leftovers, which was enough for one of us for another dinner! The ambiance is family friendly, it is a bit noisy, but it's a fun place to go--good service, well-trained wait staff.
