This is one of the special treasures of south Florida, just minutes from the more well known cities, of Boca Raton, Delray Beach and Boynton Beach.
A boardwalk has been constructed over the wetlands, allowing people to walk over the “wild side” of our area in a totally safe manner. Below you will see alligators, turtles, fish, amazing plants and numerous birds both native to South Florida and others on their migration paths between the America’s. Numerous photographers with serious cameras can be seen on the boardwalk seeking to capture the beauty of nature in this amazing spot. What is not apparent at first is that millions of gallons of water are being naturally filtered every day for the residents of the area.
There is also a nature center where one can learn more about the area. And it’s all free!!! The boardwalk is open daily. The nature center has more abbreviated hours of operation.
