When I initially walked into the hotel lobby to check-in on 8/31/13, approximately 2:30pm, a hotel staff member greeted me holding a stack of clean towels and asked how she could help me. When I said I'd like to check in she informed me that NO rooms were yet available and that check-in was at 3pm. I said oh, what time is it. She said she didn't know, but seconds later said 2:30 (we just got back from the beach and were not aware of the time at all). And I was told to come back at 3. She never put down the towels, looked at the computer, asked me to wait a moment - she just mumbled that I was early and something to the affect that housekeeping had not been in touch yet about room availability. I went out to my car to get our bags and wait by the pool and when I came back just a few moments later the same clerk was checking another customer in (what!?!?!?). Oh, that did not go over well with me. This time another employee was at the front desk who offered to help me. I told her I'd like to check in but was told no rooms were available. I said this loudly so the other clerk heard me (ggrrrrr). This clerk did her job and actually looked on the computer and our room was indeed ready. I must chalk this up to laziness on the first clerk's part. The first clerk did not handle the situation well at all and I was not happy. This was my first impression.
OK, after that things got better (yay!!). The hotel is new and very nicely decorated.
My husband and I stayed in a room on the first floor, king bed. Comfortable!!!! Oh my goodness. We had a great night sleep. We didn't hear a lot of noise, no dogs barking, no traffic, no running in the halls, no slamming doors.
The pool was small but inviting. Great view of a pond right behind the hotel.
The morning breakfast offered was OK. There was a waffle maker. We love waffles - but, these did not taste great. They were a little hard to eat - like cardboard. Basic breakfast consisting of cereals, pastries, bagels, toast, hardboiled eggs, fruit, variety of yogurt, hot coffee, tea, milk, juice (watered down greatly).
Coffee is available in the lobby throughout the day. The hotel is in a good location - just a few miles from the beach or downtown Naples.
The bathroom was pretty, but everything was in one place. The vanity was not in a separate area. The light/fan was all in one so you can turn the fan off, and oh boy was it loud! And our toilet seat was very loose - so a little uncomfortable.
We would stay here again. We would hope the front desk staff will work harder to make their guests' first impression more favorable.
This hotel is pet friendly, so you want to make sure if you're not traveling with a 4-legged fam...
