“Great stay for relaxation and fun”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2008

We stayed July 2-5. During the mid week we felt like VIP guests. By Friday (4 July), the hotel took on a less relaxing quality as the every family piled into the hotel for the weekend.

The facilties at the Stillwater Spa were nice; we enjoyed a couples massage and a long stay in the steam room. The spa was the most chi·chi spa that I had ever experienced; it was clean. The exercise room was spacious with modern, well maintained equipment. The was both a large The room was never busy at 6:30am.

The visited the hotel bar, Mangroves, several evenings and got great service from the waitstaff and the bar tender. We had lunch at Tanglewood and received outstanding service.

The hotel is a short distance from the coastline. We took a lovely drive Barefoot Beach to Sanibel Island. We also took the hotel's ferry to Hickory Island Beach; we snorkeled and found tons of great shells. When we were tired of the island, we hopped back to the hotel and spent relaxing time at the adult pool surrounded by the sounds of water from the many fountains on the property.

Overall, we received outstanding service. The room was okay, the bath was clean and but the bed was rickety.

This is our second stay at this fabulous hotel - we absolutely love it. From the terrific staff, luxurious rooms, sooo comfy beds and pillows, there is nothing bad about this place. We thought the view we had on our first stay was unbeatable - it looked over the bay - but this time our room overlooked the pools, marina, wedding pavilion - the sun setting was amazing. The hotel is beautiful, the staff are wonderful, the location is great. We hope to return one day and would absolutely recommend this hotel to everyone.

This is our first time to this Hyatt Location although we have stayed at many other Hyatt Resorts, Maui, Kauai, TX Lost Pines, TX Hill Country to name a few. This resort did not disappoint. As a diamond Hyatt member we used our points and were upgraded to a corner King, with Regency Club access. The corner king was the bomb! Three separate balconies! 2 on each side of the bedroom and one to the bathroom. Room 1307.

We got tremendous views overlooking the different views of the golf course, estero bay, the everglade (swamps, birds flying over, bats at dusk). We saw an alligator in the lagoon right on the Hyatt propery from our hotel room. They have signs warning you about Alligators and they really do live in there. If you want a beach front resort look elsewhere. You can see the beach in the distance and all the condos on hickory island, and Naples in the distance.

What is neat is the boat shuttle to the private island where you go to get your gulf of mexico beach fix without driving. There is a boardwalk that takes you to the boat shuttle.

However, there isn't much beach there, only about 15 feet. But it is very nice, with nice shells and the hotel has chairs all set up for you and umbrellas. You have to share a small area with all your fellow hotel and vacation club members but it is cool to say you were on a private island. If you stayed in Siesta Key and had quartz white sand and a huge beach that you could walk on for miles like we did just prior then this will fall short. If you have a rental car like we did go to Barefoot Beach. It is awesome! I didn't like the Bonita Beach that was also recommended, too many people and there were those pine tree burrs everwhere to step on. One restroom in the restaurant nearby and they give you dirty looks when you use it, but they do sell food and beer (we didn't try it) where Barefoot Beach you have to bring your own.

This hotel was very nice, champagne upon arrival. They didn't walk us to our room like they do at the others I mentioned above as being a diamond member, but the champagne made up for it as did the very nice bell hop.

Pools at the hotel were very nice. The landscaping was really well done. Hot tub was geat and you could see the pool from it so if you have school aged children you could still see them while realaxing. It has a waterslide is nice but slow when you have at the Disney waterslide parks earlier.

A very nice perk at this hotel is that you can go to the Hyatt Vacation club at Coconut Plantation location just 2 minutes away by shuttle or you can drive and also use their pools which includes an 800 foot lazy river. Landscape and design-wise was as nice as the lazy rivers at the Texas and Hawaii locations. This was a very nice addition to be able to go "pool hopping" to change it up a bit.

Regency club was very nice, but not as much food choices at the Texas or Hawaii locations by one or two plates or food. Not as much alcohol choices as Texas but later in the week they did add a few more liquors and mixes. They have a weird rule that the desert and cordial hour from 8-9 pm is for "adults only" This is strange because they have all the alcohol out in the open during the other times, so I think it is just something they do so adults can have adult time. They do enforce this rule and we were kindy reminded but they do offer a to-go box if you have kids to load up on deserts though before you leave.

They keep all the wet bathing suits out of the lobby by having pool access to the basement and a nice little display of the area coral and lights on fish tiles and desciprtions of the wild life. They really tried to make it nice. This cooridor leads directly to the elevators to take you directly to your room, but once we had some trouble with our room keys entering the basement level to the pool and then another time to get into our room. We asked 3 different times to change out keys or get new ones. That was pain, especially if you don't have ID on you because then security must escort you to your room. We missed regency club desserts one night because of it but they kept it open late for us and even had prepared a "to-go box" filled with goodies in advance. So they are forgiven.

All in all I would highly recommend. Great hotel and exceptional value for a hotel this caliber. I saw they are offereing rooms at $179 a night this summer. Unbelievable! You would pay $250-$400 for this in Texas or Hawaii.

Just Loved it !

The customer service was absolutely outstanding and I have been to many, many 5* Hotels in my life. We got a King Bedroom & one 2 Double Beds Room with connecting doors (Family Plan) at a special rate to accomodate our 4 and 10yr old children - on an upper floor with the best view ever !
Breakfast was excellent, we preferred sitting on the outside patio in the tropical surroundings; was so peaceful and relaxing ( if you do not mind the beautiful birds which might try to snatch yr food) The pool area/ water slide was a hit and I must say that I usually do not stay any longer than a couple of hours at the pool since I rather go exploring. There were activities like Kayaking through mangroves ( which we did - very nice), climbing wall, free motor booat shuttle to the private sandy Island ( accompanied by playing Dolphins), bike rental , golf course. there is a lazy river at the adjoining Hyatt Plantation which usually can be used with some time restrictions

Also I am not a "repeat " customer usually this is certainly a place I would like to go back to for a 2/3 night stay

  • Liked — Located in a mangrove area- great service
  • Disliked — beach shuttle - due to mangroves no direct beach access

We have stayed there numerous times all with families. it is VERY kid friendly and they have fabulous summer rates of $179. The kids love the pool and slides, good for young ones too b/c there is a beach entry pool. You also have the ability to use their sister property next door that has great pools, waterfalls, a lazy river, playground and little bars/food at each place that are reasonably priced. Kids loved the evening S'Mores bon fire onsite. We did eat our dinners away from the hotel, there are a lot of restaurants and shopping very close by. Plan on staying there a few times each year

I was extremely disappointed in this hotel, especially after the high ratings that it seems to be getting. My wife and I have two infants and although the hotel grounds were nice and family friendly, we found the food to be very sub-par. The staff was courteous but if you're a foodie then forget it...

II think it all already been said, "This place is really special".
I really wanted to see Naples so took the long route from Miami to Orlando intending to drop off our bags and then drive back into Naples for some sightseeing. We arrived around lunch time and were presented with champagne as we checked in. Everyone was so friendly, and wanted to know how long we were staying, (1 night was not enough). We were shown to a fabulous room on the corner with no less than three patios, one leading straight off the bathroom. The bell man insisted on showing us everything on the way to the room and once inside how everthing worked. It was at this time that we decided the resort need a bit of investigation by us and we would leave Naples for another trip. We were not disappointed and would certainly recommend the resort and hopefully will return one day.
