“Yet Another Wonderful Stay at a Jewel of South Florida - Service Continues to Shine!!”
Date of Stay: Saturday, June 9 - Sunday, June 10, 2012
Length of Stay: 1 Night
In a nutshell, yet another truly amazing stay at one of the jewels of South Florida -- the impeccable service and amazing facilities make the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point a property that continues to shine and should not be missed by anyone!
Now, for my detailed review:
First, this review builds upon my numerous prior reviews of the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point -- for further information and some more details on this property, please see my prior reviews:
1) July 2011, entitled: ““Yet Another stay at Florida's Most Beautiful Hyatt Resort!!” (posted July 4, 2011)
2) March 2011, entitled: “Another truly AMAZING stay at one of the best Hyatt Resorts around!!!” (posted March 21, 2011)
3) November 2010, entitled: "“One of the nicest Hyatt Resorts in the U.S. - a property above all others!” (posted November 30, 2010)
What more can I say about this property after my numerous other reviews? Well, this property continues to shine as time progresses -- the service at some properties tends to diminish over time or to eventually disappoint, but not the service at Hyatt Regency Coconut Point. With each stay, service continues to shine and never ceases to amaze me!
This was a VERY last-minute and unplanned trip; my wife and I were driving through Sarasota on Saturday at around 3pm and we decided that we wanted to just get away and not drive home -- but, so late in the day on a Saturday, we did not know where we could find a decent rate. We logged onto the Hyatt Mobile App and discovered a truly amazing last minute rate at the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point, so we instantly booked and continued to drive South for a last minute getaway.
Upon arrival, we were greeted by the ever-friendly front-desk staff, and we were thanked for being loyal Hyatt Diamond Tier Gold Passport Members. We were instantly offered glasses of wonderful champagne, and within a matter of moments we arrived in our beautiful Bay View Room, Room 1625. And, as always, the view and the room impressed us. The best thing about this property is the view -- it is always worth the extra money to pay for a Bay View Room, and try to get a high floor for what I promise will be some of the most spectacular sunset views you will ever see!
I am happy to report that this property is in the initial stages of a complete renovation, which will include a renovation to all guest rooms and bathrooms, hallways and corridors. The concept art and photos for these renovations looks absolutely AMAZING and I cannot wait to see the renovations completed. And, along that same token, the Regency Club has previously undergone a complete and total modernization, and it looks AMAZING! The renovations truly make this one of the best Regency Clubs in the Continental United States, and the service continues to shine, with excellent food options and concierge assistance. It is definitely worth the money to book a Regency Club Room.
As for the food on property, it continues to be top-notch! Being a short trip, we did not have much time to enjoy the food, but I can report that Mangroves Bar continues to serve excellent drinks and amazing appetizers. Also, the service is consistent and amazing!
Oh, and a quick comment on Lamont's Gift Shop -- as this was a last-minute trip, we had not packed and needed toiletry items. You will find that Lamont's has everything that you could possibly need, and at an affordable and reasonable price as well. At many hotels, the hotel shop has artificially inflated prices, but this is not the case at Lamont's -- you will find any number of snacks, toiletries, books, magazines and clothing items.
One additional item that I can report about from this stay is the amazing lazy river and pool at the adjoining Coconut Plantation Resort. Guests at Coconut Point have reciprocal privileges and are able to use this amazing lazy river; however, keep in mind, it is capacity controlled and Coconut Point has limited the number of guests that can utilize the facilities at Coconut Plantation -- this is for the best, as it allows all persons to enjoy the lazy river without crowds. My advice, make sure to be in the lobby to pick up your wrist bands early in the morning. But, I must mention that this perk is not available during holiday weekends, so plan accordingly.
All-in-all, this was yet another truly amazing stay at what is definitely a jewel of South Florida. You will find that the service at the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point is some of the best that you will ever experience, and I can promise you nothing but the best -- whatever you do, if you are in South Florida, do not miss a chance to stay at the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point.
