“Decadent pleasure at a bargain price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2011

This is a fine hotel by any standard, but the list prices are crazy expensive. We got about 70% off (<$150 per night) thru lastminutetrave.com. The fountains and pools are awesome. But the $5/liter of bottled water in the room is stupid! We brought our own. Gotta ding them for nonfunctioning refrigerator. Replaced it with 2 others, none really cooled, but we had our coolers and plenty of ice. They probably don't want you to have a fridge so you'll buy their inflated price food and drinks. There's no beach, except the one their boat takes you to on an hourly schedule. We skipped it since we had our car, and actually preferred the pool. Enjoyed free bicycles and $25 kayaking. If you can get a good price, this is a great place to stay.

Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort & Spa: Bonita Springs, FL

Dates of Stay: Friday, 2/25/11 - Saturday, 2/26/11
Total Nights: 1

In a nutshell, this is truly one of the most amazing Hyatt properties that I have ever stayed in; it rivals some of the best resorts in Hawaii and it truly should not be missed by anyone visiting Florida!

Now, for my detailed review:

I will start out by saying that this is my second review on this property; the first review is also viewable on this site and was from 11/24/10. Although this review may be shorter than the review of my original stay, that is not to say that this stay second stay was anything less than exceptional and on par with my first stay. Please reference that review as well for a full picture of how truly amazing this property is.

Having spent our Thanksgiving at this property, when my wife and I were trying to find a relaxing location to spend one night to break up our drive from Tampa to Fort Lauderdale for a cruise, this property was first to cross our minds. Immediately upon arrival, we discovered that this was the perfect choice, and we loved every minute of our short stay.

Unlike our last stay, we opted for Self-Parking in the attached garage instead of Valet Parking. The Self-Parking is truly a wonderful and affordable option at this property, and the cost is included in the Daily Resort Fee. The Garage itself is actually connected to the main building, so it would be perfect for parking during inclement weather. We easily found a spot close to the elevator lobby, which provided quick and easy access to the main hotel building.

Upon arrival into the main hotel building, we immediately proceeded to the Front Desk where we were greeted by name and thanked for our loyalty to Hyatt as Diamond Gold Passport Members. Similar to our first stay, check-in was very quick and efficient, and once again, we received a truly beautiful Bay Suite on a high floor. The room was spectacular, and the view was tremendous. The Bay Suites at this property are by far some of the best standard level suites at any Hyatt property, which makes me wonder how amazing the higher level presidential suites must be!

(See my prior review for an extensive review of the amazing quality of the Bay Suites)

As we only had a short one-day stay planned, we made full use of our time at the property. First, we sampled the fully renovated Tanglewood Restaurant. Tanglewood had closed shortly after our stay in November for a full rehab, and I must say, we were truly pleased with the rehab. The decor has been revitalized, and the service remains at the same amazing level as before. The food is truly delicious, and this is definitely one Hyatt restaurant that is not to be missed.

After lunch, we spent almost our entire day simply relaxing by the beautiful pools that this property has to offer. There are three separate pools to enjoy, and we spent most of our time relaxing by the beautiful Waterfall Pool that is visible from the Main Lobby. It was a truly relaxing afternoon, and the poolside bar service was extremely prompt and courteous.

After a truly relaxing pool day, we went to the Regency Club for some snacks and a drink. Surprisingly, having only been to the property once, the Regency Club attendant recognized us and welcomed us back to the resort. Such truly amazing service is the norm at this property and is what makes this property stand out above all others. In addition to the service, this Regency Club offers some of the best food selection of any that we have ever been to -- and the grouper nuggets on this occasion were particularly tasty!

Having filled up on the amazing Regency Club foods, we opted for a simply flat bread pizza from room service while we spent the night relaxing to a movie in our room. One great feature of this property is that all rooms are equipped with DVD players, so if you are coming with family or friends, make sure to bring some of your favorite DVDs to watch in the evenings. Or, if you forget to bring a DVD, a decent selection is available to borrow for free (with a refundable deposit applied to your room) at one of the shops in the lobby. The pizza and the movie were a perfect way to end a wonderful one-day stay at this beautiful property!

All-in-all, as I have said before, this is one of the nicest Hyatt Resorts in the country, and this Hyatt is truly one property that should not be missed!

Came here for a conference along with my wife.
Initial experience through the door the night we arrived was not too great:
room type booked was not available, just after 10pm and all the restaurants were closed).
After a long flight the last thing we wanted was bar snacks/atmosphere (admittedly we didn't try room service).
BUT by the next morning everything was much improved:
we were moved to our preferred room type and even given an upgrade to a higher floor with a balcony. We were also sent a bottle of wine and a hand-written letter by way of apology. It was nice touch made even better when there was no embarrassment to us not drinking and it was smoothly swapped-out to soft-drinks.
Pools were nice; the private beach is lovely! The overall ambiance of the place is classy.
The conference facilities were very good as was the catering for it.
Lastly the staff were always polite, respectful and attentive.

The only other negative that does spring to mind is that I am used to beds being larger in the US than their UK equivalent sized but the king size was not really a king size; the double was at best a UK double so on the small size and rather soft.
The walls are a little thin but not intrusively so.

Overall we enjoyed our stay - the staff and especially the concierge desk were certainly very good. Wish we had more time to laze around the pools and beach!

IWe stayed at the Hyatt Coconut Point in Bonita Springs Florida. The resort is fabulous with three pools including a large tropical pool with a large water slide. There is a private boat which takes guests to a private beach on the Gulf of Mexico. The resort has many amenities including the nearby sister property, Hyatt Plantation where the lazy river is better than at any water park and has a tropical feeling. I would definitely return to this resort.

No real complaints here. The problem is that I was paying $209 and I fully understand it is the peak of spring break but the service at the main seafood restaurant was terrible. This one kid was serving 20 of us and he got no help. By the time the last person got their food, the first person was finished and the second person had cold food. We ate lunch at the bar off the main lobby and could not get our waiter to give us much attention. Called down to the front desk and it rang 20 times. No plastic bag in the room for dirty clothes and internet is $10/day. With that said, the hotel is spotless, the people generally friendly and cooperative, and the room was comfortable. Self parking is free. The health club is excellent. Conference rooms were well staffed and the food good. Just not the memorable experience I thought I might be getting when I walked in. I will try again off peak.

My husband and I stayed here for one night recently so I could see if it would be a good fit for our meetings at work. It is really a gorgeous hotel. The drive up to the hotel doesn't seem like much but once you walk through the front doors, it's a whole other story. The lobby has high ceilings with huge windows to match. Everyone of their staff members is extremely helpful and friendly. I'm not sure I walked passed any staff person without them saying hello.

From a business standpoint this hotel has great meeting space. The ballrooms have beautiful high ceilings and chandeliers and there is no shortage of configurations available for whatever size group you have. There are plenty of smaller meeting rooms to choose from as well. In addition to the indoor space there are a ton of outdoor options as well. Their pool area is a stunning backdrop for a cocktail reception.

While there isn't much to do outside of the hotel that is within walking distance, they do provide a free trolley service to an outdoor mall nearby which has a lot of high-end shops and restaurants. That said, there is plenty to do on the property including going to the spa, swimming at the pool (there are 7 of them I think and there are two water slides for the kids!), or taking the free ferry out to their private island! The beach on the island is on the small side but I did see people walking all around the island and some were even fishing. There are also a few different restaurants to choose from and they have an excusion company on site to arrange any other activities you may want to do. For the moms and dads they also have "Camp Hyatt" to keep the kids occupied while you get some peace and quiet.

The guest rooms are beautiful as well. We had a corner room with three balconies but I did go into another room that only had one and I would say they were equally as nice. The bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom was very clean.

If I can't make it back for a meeting, I will definitely make it back for vacation!

Large rooms and a large pool and garden area. The hotel is not directly on the Gulf but a boat brings you to the hotel beach on Hickory Island. Our Island suite on the ninth floor at a supplementary cost of $120 offered us a great view of the Gulf islands. A problem was the noise of the elevators because our bedroom was next to the shaft. Although it is more than half an hour drive to Naples, it is relatively close to several state parks (Lovers Key and Estero Bay). The lap pool is heated. The days around Christmas were unusually cold with frost at night, we then enjoyed the sauna of the Stillwater Spa.
One suggestion for excellent gastronomy: "l'escargot 41" on the Tamiami Trail and for a dessert, the tempting "Royal Scoop" ice cream parlor in Bonita Springs, just off Vanderbilt Drive.
