“Smaller, decent hotel”

Renaissance Boca Raton Hotel

We just spent 4 days at the Renaissance Boca Raton and while we enjoyed ourselves and really have nothing to complain about, it was also nothing to write home about.

The lobby was clean, a bit small, but the staff was pleasant and always helpful.

Room was a decent size but seemed a bit musty/damp, almost like it had been humid and closed up for a while. Otherwise fine and clean but again, just average.

Pool was good and always had chairs available. Bar there was good, drinks and food were good and staff was always pleasant.

Close by were a lot of strip malls and chain restaurants, again, not exactly my cup of tea but fine for quick dinners. I prefer walking to driving and this was not a good area for that.

We would have preferred to stay closer to downtown DelRay or Ft Lauderdale and prob will next time, no reflection on the hotel, just the proximity to anything fun!

“Superb Customer Service”

Renaissance Boca Raton Hotel

Apr 14, 2008

The company I work for was having a huge conference in Florida, and one of our partners was staying at the Renaissance. We had a few boxes being shipped to him there, and there was a mix up with the mailing company. We couldn't properly deal with the problem as we were all still in New York City. Well, the staff and the concierge at the Renaissance were a HUGE help to us! A big thank you to Silviu who took time out of his day to travel to the pick up location for us and rescue our boxes. The customer service experienced from this hotel was top notch. Thanks again!

“Pretty good for your money”

Renaissance Boca Raton Hotel

Mar 29, 2008

Overall, I enjoyed my stay. The pool area was really nice/tropical and the pool bar was lively at night. Staff at the front desk were very nice and responded quickly to requests (such as towels). The main problem is that the rooms, while nice, are not luxurious and the bathrooms are very small. Also the "fitness center" consists of two circa 1995 treadmills, two very old bikes, two first generation elipticals, and a bench that literally fell apart when I sat on it (although the front desk immediately had someone fix it).

On a side note, the hotel is almost directly under the final approach for Boca Raton airport. I love planes, but if you don't like the roar of planes 600 feet above your head, this may not be the place for you

Overall, the hotel is pretty nice and very close to the mall (which is a really great mall). I would recommend this hotel over some of the more pricier Boca Resorts.

Thank you all for your comments on our unique hotel. We have just ordered brand new fitness equipment and it is scheduled to arrive by June. We are so excited! Plus we are remodeling the fitness center as well.
Also, we just received our brand new tropical pool pavilion furniture, including our cabanas. Our guestrooms are now complete with the newest Renaissance furnishings.

We welcome you all back!

This was my first stay at a Renaissance hotel in quite a while but if this experience is at all representative of the brand in general I will become a frequent guest of this chain.

I loved the Renaissance Boca Raton for the way they handled the details. I stay in a lot of 4 to 5 star hotels and find impressive lobbies, nice gyms, pretty pools and comfy beds are all pretty standard features of the category. But many just don’t pay attention to the little details. This hotel did.

- The staff at check-in was very friendly and helpful, and offered a few different room options to select from.
- I called down for a larger ice-bucket to keep some drinks cold and the person at the front desk helpfully suggested a refrigerator could be brought up to the room. 5 minutes later it was in my room. 5 minutes after that, SHE called back to confirm that I received it ok.
- Wireless in-room internet access is free and the mini-bar prices are actually reasonable. Nothing is more irritating than getting nickled and dimed for this stuff.
- I experienced a problem with one of the soda vending machines, explained the problem to the person at the front desk and he got me what I wanted from the store – and gave it to me for free. A very small detail to be sure but a lot of hotels would have shrugged it off.

The room was clean, modern and very tastefully decorated. I’ll be back!
