“Decent place/good value”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 22, 2014

After a horrible experiance at another local hotel we found this to be a very nice place. Good value, friendly staff, secure..more than enough for a budget thats not large..hope everyone finds this review helpful.

Rooms were clean and comforatable. They were fresh smelling and allowed our dog. There was a $25 fee for the dog. Their were only two negatives. The first was parking in the front was difficult. But that was true of the other hotels on Federal Highway nearby. We noticed this as we drove by the other hotels. The other negative was the continental breakfast. The danish was stale and the ony eggs was hard boiled.

Room Tip: Pick a room in the back as long as it is non smoking.

We came from New England and did not get in until around 1 am. We immediately did not get a good vibe, as there was a cheesy light up "open sign" and the front desk woman acted like she could not help us at first (we already had a reservation and paid in advance). As we went upstairs, the ghetto feel continued. The floor and staircase paint was peeling everywhere. Upon entering our room, there was a musty cigarette smell (our room was non smoking) combined with an odor of cheap cleaning products. The AC only shot out hot air, and the sheets had multiple stains. The bathroom was extremely cramped. Overall, the room felt both trashy and dirty, but we were told this is what we paid for. As regular travelers, we understand what lower priced hotels have to offer, but this was beyond uncomfortable. We are still struggling to get a refund for the three nights we booked that we did not stay there (we checked out after one night). Definitely not representative of the beautiful Boca Raton!!

2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2013

I came down to Boca Raton for a long weekend visit to FAU's open house and was originally staying in the Best Western across the street. I had several plumbing issues within hours of check in at BW so I checked into Quality Inn immediately, without reading reviews first.

I was very appreciative that I could be accommodated on such short notice but was a little taken aback by the price when I walked into my room. The hotel has doors to the outside and there were always dirty looking people outside smoking. The room itself had a stale smell and the doorway to the bathroom was dirty. I could hear pipes through the walls.

The plumbing here was a little off as well. The water pressure was horrible, and the only water temp options were "hot" and "boiling." The water smelled horrible, and the pipes behind the shower made a concerning rudder noise.

The location of this hotel is excellent. It's a little over an hour north of Miami, 40 min from West Palm Beach, and right around the corner from FAU. There are restaurants, bars, grocery as drug stores within a 5 min drive.

I checked out the breakfast options on my first morning but the only vegan options were old bananas and sour apples, so I got breakfast elsewhere.

All in all, it was sufficient. A lot of areas could be improved, or they could come down on the price.

The rooms are reasonably comfortable. It was a little smelly but not too bad. Breakfast was fine for the first couple of days but after a few days it gets old. Need to add variety to the breakfast menu.

We spend the whole week in Boca Raton. Quality Inn offered a comfortable/clean room, It's close to the beach and easy accessible from I-95. We had such a great time we are already considering going back. Breakfast could be a little better with a few fresh fruits, bacon & eggs.

Room Tip: Get a room close to the parking lot or you'll have to drag your luggage a long way.

The room smelled very badly of smoke. My wife decided to look around the room more closely and noticed small bugs and hair on the beds everywhere. I had just checked in and told the front desk clerk about the bugs and the smell and was offered a different room. I did not want a different room. The smell, hair and the bugs were enough to make us want to leave. When I went to see the front desk clerk I was informed that I would have to pay the entire night. Really!! I have to pay for an entire night after spending 10 min. in a bug infested room. Management of this hotel should be ashamed of themselves for providing such poor conditions. My wife and I could not spend one more moment in this hotel and gladly paid for the nights rent. DON'T STAY HERE!!

Room Tip: Don't stay here.
