My family and I went to Boca Raton to snorkel. We choose this beach because my son’s fiancée had never been snorkeling and I had heard this was very easy and great for beginners. It was indeed. It is a great place for children to snorkel. My husband and I are avid snorkelers and we enjoyed it also. The beach is very pretty. No chairs or umbrellas for rent. The beach has a man made reef that attracts lots of fish. We saw a 4 foot barracuda while snorkeling and several parrot fish. There are enough rocks that it was not crowded with people and you can get in and out of the water very very easy. It would be best to snorkel at high tide. We were there at low tide so the water for most of the reef was less than 5 feet deep. I recommend this beach for a relaxing day at the beach. The park only cost $18 per car for admission, so it is much more affordable then a snorkeling excursions at Key Largo. You can leave for lunch and come back. The town of Boca Raton is very attractive and there are lots of small places to eat lunch. There are also barbeque grills for cooking.
