“do not miss this especially with children”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2013

Totally enjoyed this attraction. The staff was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. It was very educational but not boring. You could browse at your own pace through the attractions and staff was always on hand to answer questions and offer explanation. The fish tanks were well presented. The sea turtle rehab and education fascinating. Will likely make this a regular stop on our trips to Florida.

“Nice Nature center and more”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2013

This is a great little place you can probably see the whole thing in a couple of hours or less if you needed to. I personally took a nice slow walk and sat in the butterfly garden that was very pretty, with many butterflies and beautiful plants, flowers and trees.
I was very touched by the way the staff works with some of the injured animals especially the turtles to get them back to better health so that they can release them back into the wild.
The place is so relaxing and quite and there is a trail that leads you to a bay with mangroves. I saw small little crabs. It was breezy and shady in the back we sat there and watch the boats go by.
There is no fee but a suggested fee to donate is $5.00 per person and well worth it for a great cause!

“Wonderful Ocean Science with Kids”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2013

The love of the staff and volunteers here make this a great place to give kids an easy nature encounter. The staff are patient and answered a million questions from my 6 & 7 year old girls. Also a nice turtle rescue & rehab area. Just across from the beach, lots of turtle research happens here in conjunction with Florida Atlantic University. They have preserved a little patch of old Florida mangroves and foliage,& added a butterfly garden. In the summer it is hot and buggy, but it is Florida after all. Take note, Summer camps tend to arrive in the morning and the place can be bustling with kids.

“Even more than turtles”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2013

A sanctuary for nature lovers and turtles, GL continues to evolve
into more than its original wonderful charter. The physical plant
and trails enable you to experience Fl's wild side just across the
street from the beach. The gift shop is full or unusual craft and
native items as well as specialty books and games. The staff,
mostly volunteers are a dedicated bunch always pleased to share
the lore of their beloved turtles housed on site. Feedings, classes
for adults and children and night-time beach watches to gather or
release fledgling turtles are held in season and well worth attending. Summer week long camps for youngsters are fun and
educational, highly recommended.
