I'm a local who's been to this place dozens of times. Irishmen is the latest to occupy a place on 2nd Avenue in Boca Raton that has always been death to restaurants, but they've been there for longer than any of their predecessors, and look like there here to stay. I'm a prof at the nearby university and it's been a favorite of my colleagues for years.
It's billed as an Irish Pub, and it's got a good selection of Irish beers and whiskey, along with traditional Irish food like bangers and mash, shepherd's pie and the like. That and a few dart boards are enough for the title.
They also do great burgers, sandwiches and wraps, along with a selection of quesadillas (celtic quesadillas?). Since we're in Boca Raton, I don't really care about authenticity as much as great food in a fun place, and they score high on all that.
They're really a sports bar--lots of wide screens tuned in to several sports channels, all conveniently placed. Comfortable and spacious seating, good prices, with attractive and friendly (and efficient) servers. What's not to like?
