“The Best!!!”

Boca Raton Resort and Club

This is the most beautiful resort I have ever had the pleasure to visit. The staff was always friendly and very help full.

The Executive Chef Andrew Roenbeck and his team went above and beyond for all of our groups functions. The breakfast, lunches and evening receptions were amazing. Every detail was taken into consideration in the preparation, display and service of all of our meals. Five star all the way.

Joe in the Luna Bar took care of every detail and remembered our preferences from day to day. He was attentive and friendly.

Kisha in Convention services and Bill Baxley in room reservations were very helpful and alway willing to assist in any detail needed.

I can't say enough about the staff at the resort and the luxurious accommodations they are outstanding. I felt like Royalty.

We were staying on our boat at the Boca Raton resort and Club.
Four of us decided to take our new tender out for a spin.
We went through the inlet out to the ocean and headed north past the Boca beach. The engine died. We paddled the boat to face perpendicular to the shore to ride it in with the waves. The waves were massive. We looked to shore and crowd was gathering on the beach looking a little concerned because the boat kept flipping around. We made it in safely, albeit soaked. Benoit was the first to arrive. Then Jacob,Jared, Stephen and Arthur. They helped turn the boat on it;s side so we could get to the intake and clean out the seaweed. When they put the boat back in the water Stephen jumped in, got it started and zipped around. The sea was so rough we couldn't get back in but Jared did. We all watched as they headed towards the inlet to return the boat to the slip. Then the boat died again. Thank goodness they were rescued and towed in.
We all wanted to thank these men for their bravery and quick thinking. There was no hesitation to assist us. They brought us towels and water and a great attitude.
Thankyou so much! We'll be back.

“Pleasantly surprised”

I was very surprised having read a number of reviews of this resort on your site that I had such a wonderful experience there. My meeting was scheduled there and it was the first time I ever anticipated having a bad time. I found the staff friendly and courteous, did not have to wait too long for my car even at peak dinner time hours. The tennis facility and pros went out of their way to make sure I could get matches. Of course the beach club was not open yet since it was still under renovation. The room rates I found reasonable. The resort fee was apparently instituted to take care of the issues of most tipping, although I did tip additionally hence I was not nickle and dimed like some reviewers said. I will definitely go back in the near future. As far as prices in the area, it is Boca and meals such as the buffet can be pricey although tremendous in offerings. With a car there are surrounding restaurants of all price ranges. Even the members I met there were extremely friendly. I do not usually take time to write a review but based on all I read I really felt strongly to do so. The area of Boca is expensive and not the place to go for a budget vacation or trip. This said one can still have a good time with a reasonable amount of expense.

“The Good The Bad and The Rude”

Boca Raton Resort and Club

I do have to agree with another review...Bring you wallet, but, if you know the resort, you know that going into it. They charge 18% on all food and drink and BTW spa services. I must say my massage was one of the best I ever had (ask for Jodi), but, when I went to check out I found an 18% service charge already attached to my bill. I asked if that was for Jodi and was told No, that is split among all the workers and if I wanted to tip Jodi than I had to add an addtional tip. The bill for one massage was almost $300.
Than I went to relax by the Intercostal I had a lovely drink "April In Paris" for those of you who like sparkling wine...yum.
We did get an amazing deal on our room. We booked through the hotel and used a Florida resident rate. We had a Bungalow suite for $169 plus tax and resort fee (each of which was about $25). The room was amazing, large, full kitchen, living room, bedroom, bath had both walk in shower and tub, 2 flat screen tvs. Amazing, Wow, I was in heaven. The hotel even sent another bottle of sparkling wine to our room to welcome us.
We showered and went to dinner a Cielo by Angla Hartnett in partner with Gordon Ramsey. The food was lovely and they even have a vegatarian menu.
This is where everything took a turn...
We arrived back at our room and the key didnt work...in the bungaloo you are not at the main hotel and there are not alot of people around. I walked from our room looking around for a house phone or anything to contact someone (it is 11pm by now) I did not find a person, but, the office door was ajar so I walked in. Using the office phone I called the front desk to have someone send us a new key. At that time I was told the key was fine, they locked us out do to a credit card problem. Are you kidding? After a discussion they sent security over to open our door. The security officer got to the room and told us he was not allowed to open the door since we were having credit problems and it was hotel policy to lock out people until the bill was paid. I told him I already contacted the front desk and there was no problem he could open the door, needless to say he did not believe me and called them for himself, well it was ok to opent he door.
But the ordeal did not end there, once I got into the room I called down to the front desk to see what the problem was. And how could they just lock people out over a small billing problem. The answer was yes because they have to protect the hotels intrest.
2 quick things 1) the hotel room was pre paid at time of booking and 2) everything except the massage was paid with cash. So in the grand scheme of things we were looking at $250. Hardly enough to break the bank for a luxury resort where drinks run $18 each. Please.
There other responce was they tried to contact us and we did not call them back. Again 1) we checked in at 2pm and 2) there was one message at 9:30 from the front desk that came when we were out to dinner and we could not get back in the room to retrieve it.
Well, after talking with the manager on duty and finding out that yes in deed it was my fault (my credit card company had sent a new card and I gave them the old card, oops) he said that I could come and fix the mistake in the morning. Which would have been fine, but, I asked what can they do to make up for the hassle they gave me? His responce to me was (more or less) " What do you expect me to do comp you a breakfast or something when you havent even paid your bill?" Again are you kidding me?

So much for a relaxing weekend...

Well at least I thought it would be over, but, no. The next morning when I woke up there was another voice mail from the front desk morning person about how are credit card was declined and we needed to come and take care of the problem (this came at 6:30am). Yeah, they were not going to let you get away with there $200.

Oh, took care of the problem, was not comp for anything including time trouble or embarassment. and more or less they didnt even give a darn.
Shame, always looked up to the hotel and resort with awe, not just ashamed.

My company stay started off well with the knowledgeable and very friendly bungalow manager Monica. King for a day about says it all with Monica. I was happy to go to the bungalows for a private check in which was new and alot quicker from previous years. Monica is the poster of hospitality and had an eye for detail, NOTHING is more frustrating then being. treated like just another number and having some barely out of diapers front desk person tell you they will get their manager because they don't know ANYTHING. My luggage was handled roughly by an older bellmen Dell or Dill? who was as rude as he was rough. I was misdirected to my meeting TWICE once I got to the lobby. Thank God the concierge had a clue. I have decided to go elsewhere for my end of summer family stay as this resort is problematic. Some of the other staff I encountered were friendly enough but experience speaks volumes.
