“Getaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 8, 2014

My wife and I have come here a number of times for special getaways, and have spent the last three days (with family) at this great place for my 60th birthday..The room was large, clean and well appointed. The view was incredible. The views of the intercoastal and ocean from our room were as beautiful as any we've experienced.. Seeing both waterways is so much more interesting than just ocean, and watching all the boats docked or going out to the ocean is great.
The staff were exceptional , and a number of them went out of their way to walk us to find a requested area .We love the option of having the beach and/or the many pools to choose from. Their beach is clean and private. We tried a cabana this time and really enjoyed the service and the area to eat our lunch in.
Just a great time and highly recommend.

Room Tip: We had a Jr. Suite on corner #2168 (21 st floor). Great views and quiet.

When you hear Waldorf Astoria you think elegance, luxury, comfort. Well this hotel was far from that. My guestroom was horrible!! This set the tone for the rest of my stay. The room was humid. The door looked like someone hit it multiple times, all over & the knicks were covered with white paint! The room was musty! I had to keep the air on high to hide that musty smell. The furniture was out dated. In the bathroom there was green stains around the faucet.

As for the rest of the resort it is old & in need of a renovation. It was not as bad as my guestroom but it certainly could use a refresh.

The staff was great. However I will never stay at this hotel again & I certainly will not ever refer my friends.

My wife came to the Boca Resort for a conference several years ago and fell in love with the place. We have come back on our own a few times a year ever since. The property is beautiful and service is again fantastic. Things were not so good for a while when owned by a private equity firm that skimped on service and cleanliness, however I am pleased to report that the new management team under Hilton/Waldorf Astoria has restored the great service that the Resort was known for. The resort offers something for everyone, from beach to golf to sport fishing, and the spa is a must visit -- experience the ritual bath before your massage! If you can splurge for the Yacht Club, be sure to visit the Commodore Lounge (concierge floor lounge -extra fee) to meet Zita and see a true hospitality professional in action.

Room Tip: We have stayed in all room types over the years and found each one to have its own charm. Given all...

I stayed here for 7 days and have had a wonderful, relaxing stay in an elegant hotel. I enjoyed each of the restaurants and the spa was one of the nicest I've ever been to, on par with Canyon Ranch.
You are treated very well and attentively at both the hotel and the spa from the minute you walk in.
Something small and detailed, but I love when they address you by name when you call the front desk, concierge, restaurant, etc. It shows class.

This hotel should be downgraded because it was taken over by Hilton Hotels.

The internet by AT&T is useless, because in some parts of the hotel you donot have Wifi. Every 5 min you loose the connection. The Colombian cook in the breakfast room does not know how he can make soft boiled eggs. The room is cleaned only around 04.00 PM so if you come earlier to your room it is stil not cleaned.
The service at the swimming pool at the Boco beach resort is slow, slow and slow.
Some are very friedly some are not friendly at all.
This Cloister (hotel) is not as the standard which the Waldorf Astoria had.

Room Tip: aks for new decorated rooms otherwise you get a room which is very old fashion

The Boca Raton Waldorf-Astoria combines an older property with Jazz age glamour and several new properties with modern day amenities. The staff is professional and friendly. Several restaurants to choose from and lots of outdoor spaces for lounging.

This property is just beautiful and a wonderful, relaxing resort. We were a bit confused about what type of room to get, and initially got a "cloister" room. These rooms are in the original property from 1929, and have been updated. The rooms are nice, but have an older feel to them. We then requested a room with a balcony, and were moved to the Yacht Club rooms. These rooms are much more modern, have a beautiful view, and were just wonderful. We did go over to the beach club, and those rooms are much more modern. However, the property at the beach club is not nearly as peaceful and relaxing as at the main resort. We loved walking outside in the beautifully landscaped areas.

The staff at the resort went out of there way to make us feel welcome, and accommodated our every request, including making an area outside for us to eat one night! They were really outstanding!

Room Tip: Request room in Yacht Club
