We recently stayed at the Gasparilla Inn for a wedding; we (and many others) found the staff to be extremely rude on more than one occasion and indifferent to any of our concerns/issues. There was no bellmen present to help with our bags, no valet, no parking (parking is on the street), and the front desk is understaffed. We were put in room 102, which is essentially in the lobby; it has an elevator and the wood stairs on one side and the lobby restroom on the other. Literally the entire night (for two nights) all we could hear were people partying in the lobby bar and footsteps up the stairs. We complained several times, one of the times an honest employee said “yeah that’s the worst room in the Inn, everyone always complains”. We brought our concern to management and asked for a refund of our last night so we could stay somewhere else and she was aloof. She said that we could not get a refund and would be charge the full rate no matter what, or they would give us some strange credit that had to be used here (we’re not coming back lady!). When I explained how unhappy we were with the room she simply said, “Well we turned people away this weekend, so I can’t give you your money back”. This shouldn’t even be a room it should be storage or the janitor’s closet!
The last day someone called who had magically come up with another room, trying to get us to stay, but by then we had already made other arrangements.
We would never go back to Gasparilla Inn.
I wouldn't stay there! If for some reason you do, don't stay in the main Inn or at least roo...

We always welcome and appreciate feedback from our guests. At no time, do we want any of our patrons to be disappointed or feel that they have been treated in any other way but in a hospitable, warm and welcoming manner. Please know that this situation has been addressed internally and coaching and counseling has occurred with the staff member involved.
I have also reached out personally and had an off line telephone conversation with the guests to apologize and attempt to resolve this matter to the best of our ability.
