Just got back from our Keys trip. Let me chronicle the adventure. We booked a 2 tank reef trip. It was 10 months since my wife's last dive and we wanted to start shallow. Nope. He had 2 advanced divers that he cancelled out on the week before. He had to get them to the Augustus Busch wreck (105 fsw to the sand). Ok...he would lead the dive. We were going to do this dive 2 days later anyway. We get loaded up and off we go. What is that alarm? Oh..engine problems. His mate spends most of the ride trying to coax the "good" engine to run. Ok...it will be a slow ride to the dive site. What's this? We have to stop for fuel?!? You have got to be kidding me! This is a first. It was a slow ride to the wreck site. A minimal briefing on our dive. It was a good dive and Dave did a good job here. Over to the reef and a better description of what to expect. We had a great dive there. Then a slow ride back in. We were going to do our 2-tank dive on the reef Tuesday. At 7:40am, Dave calls and said the engine wouldn't be fixed until noonish and we could do an afternoon dive. Nope...we had firm plans for the afternoon and we were off to the upper Keys on Wednesday. Based on this trip, I would not recommend this operation.
