Took a chance and went to Miami mid-September. I knew it was hurricaine season, but the price was so reasonable, couldn't resist. $1100 for hotel and Air for two people from New York (Newark) to Miami. The Sheraton was great!!. The only drawback was $18 a day to park. We were given breakfast vouchers for continental breakfast, but upgraded to a full buffet breakfast for $7 poolside. The pool was spectacular and the beach was very nice. We rented a cabana and relaxed on the beach a few days. The food was pricey ($8.00 for a hot dog). There were many great restaurants nearby. The Palm Steak House was spectacular. There was a good Italian a couple of blocks away and also a good Pizza and Salad Place in the Bal Harbour Mall upstairs. We went to South Beach which was about 15 minutes away. We had breakfast and then a lunch at the News Cafe on the Beach. Good People watching. There were also many good restaurants along the Beach. The place is really exciting at night. The Clubs and Discos are really jumping even at off season. Joe's Stone Crab was closed. They open from October through May. Lincoln Road was also fantasic. Alot of boutiques and restaurants also. Miami has alot to offer. Best of all was the clear blue ocean and beautiful palm trees. We also played golf at the Diplomat Hotel which was very upscale. The price was only $50 for off season. We had a great time and no rain!!!
We even rented a little convertible for the week for $200. Can't wait to go back.
