“The Jewel in the Crown of Bal Harbour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2013

One Bal Harbour is truly a jewel. From the moment you arrive at One Bal Harbour, you are immediately greeted by a friendly and professional staff all willing and able to assist and expedite your needs.

The hotel is beautifully decorated and the high ceilings in the lobby give the feeling of a zen Like residence and not a hotel. The rooms are as equally nice and have water views. The zen like feeling is continued as you enter the spa with treatment rooms also with soothing water views as well.

Pool and Beach service is available daily. I highly recommend giving this Jewel an opportunity. As a frequent guest, I could not I agile staying anywhere else.

Room Tip: Rooms in the Atlantic Tower have excellent water views.

Staff was excellent, rooms were over the top nice. Very expensive. Near great shopping and food. If u want pamper and relax, this is the hotel. Food at the hotel was very good, probably my only complaint is that the bar stools were not comfy, they were cool to look at, but not comfy.

I loved this property. Great alternative to the St. Regis. Beautiful beach, knowledgeable and friendly staff.

The spa amazing!

Room was a good size and rather well equipped.

Great proximity to Bal Harbour shops. Restaurant was good - still prefer St. Regis for dining or Locally in some of the hidden gems on Collins but overall a great experience.

I travel to this area often, mostly for business and would absolutely recommend this property for the business traveler for event planners and just for those wanting to feel special.

We stayed at the One Bal Harbour for a few days in Nov. Our room was lovely and well equipped. The gigantic tub overlooking the ocean was a treat. Surprise on exit though was that the in room espresso machine was not complimentary! The spa was wonderful. I had a brilliant hot stone massage from Ashley. It is not to be missed. The pool and beach facilities are top notch. We had a fantastic dinner in the restaurant one night. Their wine list was a little skimpy and could do with some work, but the food was amazing.

I loved to stay at this hotel. The location is very nice and enormous, the ambiance is very pleasant, and the service is excellent. I liked very much the almost private elevators, that serves only 2 rooms for each floor. The room view is dazzling, and the bathroom view surprised us with its tub and shower near a glass wall so you can imagine you are taking a shower in the sky. Staff is very helpful and the hotel offers a private car to go to Bal Harbour Mall as a courtesy. I will go back there on the next trip to Miami, certainly.

1/7/2013: I am from Miami. I go there a lot from Washington DC. I discovered One Bal Harbor Resort on the from a friend. What a great place. Its a beautiful property on a beautiful beach. Its in the quiet, elegant, safe section of the beach called Bal Harbor. Its only 5 miles north of South Beach and very close to main roads getting you all over the Miami/ Ft Lauderdale area.

We had lunch and dinner in their beautiful indoor and outdoor restaurant on the ocean. The food and service was great and reasonably priced for a hotel. Waiters and staff seemed to be tripping over each other to be nice and accommodating. The 100 room hotel is exquisite and elegant.

We also used their great spa as well. The service was excellent. They even allowed people not staying at the hotel to relax by the large heated beautiful pool, and use the beach and gym after the spa treatment. What a fine idea and fine marketing!

A lot of the culture of Miami tends to be unwelcoming. In the resorts by South Beach people are always asking you for id and on the prowl for people trying to break security. At one place in South Beach we went for some high priced spa services and they wouldn't even allow us to sit in a chair by the pool while another in our party was finishing the treatments. At another high end resort ( Lowes) we stayed in the pool was like a bathtub overflowing with bodies and noise and floating cupcakes; the elevators blasted vulgar rap music and all for $500 a night.

At One Bal Harbor the culture is relaxed, calm beautiful and welcoming. The crowds, noise and frequent vulgarity of South Beach is no where to be seen. We felt very safe and relaxed. Its especially good for families who dont want their kids exposed to the social pollution of naked bodies and foul language in the South Beach area. (Though you can visit easily by driving 5 miles and then return to the sophistication and elegance of One Bal Harbor.)

The only negative I saw was that the spa only has one shower in the men's room. Its a little strange to have a high end spa and hotel and theyve got three half naked guys standing around waiting for the shower to clear. It should be the worst thing to deal with in life!

Cafe Ragazzi down the street is also a great Italian restaurant with a beautiful ambience, great food fine service and modest prices.

We'll be back to this classy, welcoming fine resort for spring break. I hope the crowds in South Beach don't discover and ruin this sanctuary of classy vacationing. This place gets 5 full stars. Howard Sachs MD/Washington DC: tel 301 9613161

Liked it here. Everything first class but I think I prefer the St. Regis, Primarily because the hotel rooms big balconies face North. So you don't get great light in the morning and your not facing the beach. So although the rooms were great, the resturant better than St. Regis and the overall experience more boutique than 5 star hotel, I would have to choose St. Regis over this because of location and upgraded feel of St. Regis.

Room Tip: Try and find a room that looks at the beach.
