“take care with room location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 days ago NEW

This hotel is localized close to Bal Harbor Mail. If you follow the Maps such as Tom Tom, you'll be guided to a condo. In fact, you must go until the bridge, take the left side and cross bellow the bridge.
the hotel looks new but, in fact, is a renovated room apartments. The rooms are very, very large with a living room for 6 people! It's very clean but you need to take care with the room location. You need to avoid the Bridge side because these rooms are practically under the bridge!

This hotel is sort of weird. It's actually really cute inside. The rooms are nice. Sadly it looks like only the rooms with 2 bedrooms get an actual balcony. We had 1 room so we had a view of the overpass. We were only there for the night so it wasn't a big deal. The walls and doors are thin though and we could hear screaming kids at 10pm running down the hall. You have a grand total of about 15 tv channels to choose from. None of which are interesting at all.
We were also put in the handicapped room for some odd reason. Our entire bathroom was basically sorted out for someone who can't do it by themselves. There was no lid on the toilet, which is just gross. The shower floor has no barrier between it and the actual floor. You have to put a ton of towels down to soak up all the water that splashes out. Very bizarre.
The staff seemed friendly though the girl who checked us in spoke very broken, not quite understandable English. They gave us complimentary champagne when we came in. It was cute. Except both our glasses were majorly cracked at the bottom.
We also had a view of the Maids entrance out of our window. It's fun to be standing there then suddenly see a bunch of people walk out. Or a ton of trash cans.
The pool and "zen garden" out back were actually super cute though. They had a nice view over the harbor and it would have been nice to relax on.
You're also not close to really any restaurants and traffic in that area is just crazy.
Oh well, it is Miami.

Room Tip: Ask for a room without a view of the overpass.

This place is a hot mess. The rooms look nice and the staff is friendly. Other than that, there isn't anything else positive to say. The hotel is a long walk away from restaurants and conveniences. They don't have an ice machine, vending services, or water bottles. We were given the wrong room type but they were unable to fix it. The maids were VERY noisy. They barged into rooms without knocking and they several times ignored the Do Not Disturb signs. The outlet next to the wall mounted hairdryer didn't work. The maintenance guy's response was to rip the dryer unit off of the wall and to encourage me to dry my hair on the kitchenette counter. Many of the amenities that they advertise actually are the amenities of The Ritz. For example, the poolside drink service is at the Ritz's outdoor bistro 10 minutes away and is available to anyone off the street. I left this hotel very disappointed. It just falls short on everything you would expect from it.

We stayed in the hotel with our kids this week. The only good thing about this hotel are the rooms but for over $500 per night might as well rent from airbnb. There is a shortage of staff. Location is horrible under a highway. If you decide to stay in your room past 1pm dont expect it to be cleaned up. First night we had a horrible knocking noise in our room this went on for 3 nights. Hotel staff said "don't worry its not your room it's just when people upstairs use hot water this noise comes on". This was going on for 3 nights.
I brought a car full of groceries to find out that there is only 1 bell person in the hotel and he was at lunch. So I had to haul everything myself. Most of the staff doesn't speak English. There was 1 young lady at the front desk who was helpful. But not much she could do.

We 've found this hotel with a last minute offer. What a nice surprise when we arrived to the hotel! Wonderful and unforgettable first travel in Miami with my family. Relax on beach, not far from shopping and from Miami beach.

Room Tip: Quiet, elegance, cleanliness, courtesy, proximity to equipped beach, wide apartment, good for family...

We had booked this holiday and been saving for a year. We wanted one big grand luxury holiday with no hold backs. Sadly this hotel did not deliver on this front.
Our hearts initially dropped when we first drove into the car park...under an overpass and tucked away almost out of sight. Checking in was pleasant and the front desk staff where lovely and helpful.
Our room was really big and spacious...but don't be fooled by the the space as it is very minimalist in style and built more to impress and less for comfort. We had a perfect view of the aforementioned overpass from our balcony too which made sitting there a bit awkward since every person walking across and every large vehicle gets s good Starr at you.
We asked to move rooms and again the staff were delightful and very helpful and we got a room with a pool view.
Let's talk about the pool actually, or would I have come to call the puddle. It is tiny. One of the smallest hotel pools I have come across and does not scream luxury boutique to me at all. It was freezing cold and every swim was spent dodging fallen tree debris and drowned insects.
The pictures on the hotels website give the impression of staring across a limitless ocean but in reality you stare at the side of an overpass and on to Miami bay.
Location is very poor! Yes, it is close to the beach but you end up feeling like a hobo when you see that every other hotel provides sun loungers for guests and we have to lie on our towels since the Bal Harbour doesn't provide a beach section for guests. I figured this to be due to having to walk 5 minutes before seeing any sand. Location for getting around is poor too and a car is an expensive necessity. $15 a day to park. The buses are good to Lincoln road and bayside but take a long time. Either the 120 or the S and both cost $2.25 per person.
Location for eateries is also poor. The closest places to eat are the mega expensive neighbouring hotels or the few restaurants found in Bal Harbour shops.
Despite the lovely staff, this hotel is not worth the price tag for what it offers its guests.
