We stayed in the Sheraton Suites for one night in March of 2007. A family of 5 in two adjoining suites. The AAA rate for each suite on a Saturday night was $105. We actually had a ridiculous amount of space -- 4 large rooms -- way more than we needed. (But with 3 teenagers, it was nice to have 4 TVs!) I see that others have complained about the cleanliness of the rooms, but our rooms were very clean, attractive and well-maintained.

We happened to be there on St. Patrick's Day, so we came upon revelers in the elevators and lobby. However, once in our rooms, we did not hear a thing and were not disturbed at all.

“WORST WEDDING WEEKEND at The Sheraton Suites Wilmington, DE”

Sheraton Suites Wilmington

Aug 28, 2007

I would like to express my thanks for the accommodations at the Sheraton Suites, but unfortunately I am unable to do that. Not only my stay, but the events leading up to the day were a complete fiasco. I was having my wedding at Winterthur on Saturday, August 18th, who recommended your hotel to us and also arranged our accommodations there (which was in our package). I thought it would be a great idea to add this as an accommodation to our wedding website, giving our out of town guests an option to spend the night. The room block was important to me, as many guests decided to stay over night. Not only was my room block "LOST" on more than several occasions, but I had to deal with my guests calling me asking about the hotel which was VERY embarrassing and stressful ( I had a wedding that weekend, which was stressful enough!!) The rooms were scattered all over the hotel, which was also strange to me, because with other room blocks I have encountered in the past, the guests have all been put on the same floor or at least near one another.
The day of the wedding I was extremely calm, up until the moment I entered the hotel. The lobby was completely chaotic and unorganized, and was filled with at least 50 people just talking loudly and taking up space, not even checking in. There were no bellmen and only two people behind the front desks checking in guests. TWO on a Saturday afternoon! Needless to say, it took longer than expected to check in. Upon checking in, the front desk representative said that my parents reservation was cancelled (WHAT!). She then went to her counter partner (who was working on my check in). She dropped me like a bad habit and started assisting the other girl, as I waited there confused. After 15-20 minutes, the rep who was working with me finally found my parents reservation. They were supposed to be next to my Godparents and they were put 11 floors down from them. Once my dad got to the room, the keys did not work. He had to go back downstairs and at that time was so upset he requested to go back to the original room he was SUPPOSE to have next to my Godparents. After an hour of sorting that out - there were no trollies to carry my heavy wedding gown, luggage, flowers and the tuxedo's up. We had to take several trips to my room on the 15th floor, from the unsafe, dirty parking garage 18 floors below (which is not an easy task considering the incompetence of your elevators).
That night, after the wedding, my brothers room did not have any sheets for the pull out couch (where the kids were staying) and it took over an hour to get them that night. When the paper-like sheets were finally delivered, they didn't even fit the pull out bed and ALL 4 of them had to sleep in the KING BED! I can not forget to mention that their car was keyed and the front end was damaged and dented in the parking garage that they had to pay $12.00 for.
These are just a few complaints listed above. My family has traveled the world and has NEVER encountered such chaos, incompetence, confusion and stress. My parents also owned a hotel at the Jersey beach for 30 years and were shocked at the lack of professionalism upon checking and organization as a whole. Needless to say, we were excited to checkout on Sunday morning. We were completely dissatisfied with the Sheraton Suites and will not be back, nor recommending your hotel in the future to anyone. In fact, I have already told Winterthur about our negative experience with your hotel and hope that they look into another accommodation for their future clients. I hope no other bride and groom have to go through the ordeal that we did.

Just came back from a very enjoyable stay Aug 12th -15th. Rooms were very nice. Staff was very helpful. Baby crib was in my room before I got there. Beds were very comfortable, and room decor was very nice. Perfect for the business traveler or parents staying with a couple of children. I would definitely stay there again

I stayed on one of the "Club Levels" which means I got a complimentary breakfast. The restaurant in the hotel was good, but overpriced. Hotel's internet was down; and they charge for internet and parking. Staff was great--everyone from the desk to the cleaning people were VERY nice and worked hard to help me have a good stay. If I was staying in Wilmington again, I would stay there again, but I wouldn't make a special trip to stay there.

“Spectacular Hotel w/ Expensive Incidentals”

Sheraton Suites Wilmington

This hotel was a perfect stopover for a trip I was taking down south. I had a bit of trouble finding the property. The underground parking garage has an eerie feeling (but its secure). Check in was fast and efficient. The front desk staff were very professional. I'm glad I was informed of the $15 parking charge before check out time. In my opinion, the price is excessive. The room is a two room suite. There is a large living room and kitchen area. There is also a separate bedroom with a large dressing area leading down a hallway to a big bathroom. Every room was furnished well 9and very clean). The bed was huge and comfortable. Since I booked the reservation on Priceline..the room was a steal. I would have paid a few hundred dollars for the room and experience. Since I was on the 16th floor, the view of downtown Wilmington was spectacular. The room service was very courteous and professional. My meal arrived on time and piping hot. The steak salad was spectacular. My soup was tasty. The $40 bill for a soup and salad was astonishing! Never again! Overall, this hotel, like most Sheratons, was clean and comfortable. The room service food charges are very high. I'd definetely stay there again.
