“Spacious room and good price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2013

We had a suite for the family on a Saturday night. Spacious including club lounge access...was quiet around that part of town so stayed local in hotel restaurant and bar. Service there was cheeky/humourous so appreciated and efficient. Not many local, places for breakfast so again you can eat on site or in club lounge. Surrounded by financial institutions, sure it's busy during week duet it's prime location.

Thank you for your feedback regarding your recent visit to the hotel. The hotel just completed replacing all of the guest room and guest hallway carpet, wallpaper and lights. In addition, the sofa, chair and ottoman as well as the drapes were all replaced in November/December of 2012. The hotel looks forward to making addition renovations to the guest rooms throughout 2013 and 2014. Thank you again for your comments. The staff and I hope that when you are in the area, you stay at the Sheraton Suites Wilmington Downtown
Have a great summer

This is an excellent hotel for business travelers located in downtown Wilmington. All of the employees were friendly and attentive including the front desk staff, the restaurant waiters and the housekeepers. The only issue that I had, a dirty, rusted iron, was promptly resolved.

The rooms are typical of a Sheraton Suites, spacious and comfortable. The climate control worked well. The internet speed was very good. I know that the hotel normally charges for internet service, but it was included in my corporate rate. Televisions were up to date with good signal strength and a decent number of channels.

So what prevents me from rating this hotel as excellent? It has the 2nd worse parking garage of any hotel that I've stayed in during the last 30 years. There's really nothing that they can do about it without drastically reducing the number of spaces that they have, but it is truly a terrible lot. It is located beneath the hotel, and the narrow spaces are made worse with numerous but necessary support columns. To make matters worse (and this is nothing that the hotel can control), the patrons often don't take the time to park their cars between the lines. This waists many of the few spaces that they have in the first place.

Would I recommend this hotel? Definitely, but I wouldn't park my personal nice vehicle in their garage. If you've got a beater that you don't mind being dented by your neighbor's door or you've got an insured rental car, go for it!

Thank you for your feedback regarding your recent visit to the hotel. I am glad to read that you found the room “spacious and comfortable”. I am however disappointed that the housekeeper that took care of your room would leave an iron that had rust on it, in the room. I do apologize for the inconvenience but glad that it was quickly resolved.
While the hotel had no control over the size of its garage, I can tell you that many guests try to park in the first several floors when the lower 4 and 5 levels are typically empty and allow guests extra room. In addition, the garage is patrolled by the hotel staff as well as Wilmington’s Downtown Vision staff regularly throughout the day.
Thank you again for your comments. The staff and I look forward to seeing you again in the future.

Very large and well appointed rooms for a downtown location. One of the better business hotels for Wilmington business travelers <$300. The room is open and well decorated. The beds and bedding are the very good Sheraton "sweet sleep" bed that are crisp, clean, and comfortable. Furnishings are good quality and in good shape. The elevators in the hotel are dated and need some work. Staff was accomodating and relatively friendly -- except in the bar! The week night bar tender was cold, slow, and seemd that serving customers was a large imposition. I have experienced this at several Sheraton hotels....coincidence, or major issue? Parking is tight, but normal for downtown. Overall, this is my favorite hotel for business travel in Wilmington. I would NOT recommend upgrading to the club level (no free drinks), but still a nice club lounge if you are gold or platinum with SPG.

Room Tip: Upper level rooms are quieter when facing east or south

Thank you for your feedback regarding your stay at the Sheraton Suites Wilmington Downtown. The hotel has just completed a partial room renovation in Q4 2012. The guest room carpet, wallpaper, the guest room light package, draperies, couch, chair and ottoman were all replaced. The hotel as additional items to be renovated/replaced throughout 2013 and 2014 to make each guests stay more comfortable and enjoyable. I am glad to read that guest room met your needs during your stay. In regards to the bartender, I have forwarded the review to the Restaurant Manager, however if you could contact me directly I would appreciate it so I can determine who the bartender was that did not give you the service that is required by any of the hotel’s employees. My direct number is 302.576.8000.
Thank you again and the staff and I look forward to seeing you again in the future.

This is a good comfortable hotel in downtown Wilmington, with a good location . The suite style rooms were large, well-appointed and very comfortable with flat screen TV’s in both of the rooms and an efficient air conditioning system. My only real complaint against they charge so much for in room Wi-Fi connection? Free internet access was available from the small business centre in the lobby.
In summary I would call this hotel comfortable but with no particular stand out feature

Thank you for your comments regarding your recent exerience at the Sheraton Suites Wilmington Downtown. The staff and I truely appriciate your feedback. I would agree that the rooms are very spacious and while the hotel just completed a partial room renovation at the end of 2012, the hotel still plans to start replacing it's case goods and start guestroom bathroom renovations. Thank you again and hope you have an enjoyable summer

It was a little quirky getting to the hotel, but that is due to the street layout in Wilmington. Once you get your bearings it is a breeze. It was a little difficult getting checked in due to several wedding parties and the Delaware Marathon, my reason for staying. The rooms were very nice, well appointed and spacious. The exercise/pool area was small, but well laid out and equipped. The restaurant had a small, but varied menu and the food was above average. The concierge was very helpful turning my family on to a Wilmington tradition, Mrs. Robino's in Little Italy. Parking is underground, secure, but very tight even for our compact SUV. For an upscale hotel, I did not like the nickel and diming about things like wifi charges of $10/day. That said, I would recommend this hotel to my friends and family.

My family reserved a couple rooms at the Sheraton Suites Wilmington Downtown to attend a nearby event.

Wilmington isn't exactly a big, bustling city, but the location was convenient and fairly quiet. The hotel is mere minutes from I-95, and fairly easy to get to most locations in the area. I must concur with other reviews noting the tremendously tight parking. I am not shy in parking lots, nor do I drive a large car, but my experience there left me sweating.

The rooms (all suites) were pretty perfect for my family that includes two small kids. A small refrigerator for milk and separate living/sleeping room meant that my wife and I did not have to go to bed at 8:30 pm. We were just able to get a crib into the bedroom with two double beds, keeping the kids together.

The quality of the rooms was mixed. It looked to me to be a hotel that had been upgraded, but still showed its age.

Overall, I would probably go back for the convenience and cost, though I could not call this a top-rate hotel.

Room Tip: The hotel does offer a Preferred Guest floor for members of SPG. Guests on that floor do benefit fro...

Thank you for your feedback regarding your recent stay. The Sheraton Suites is the only all-suite property in Downtown Wilmington and allows for more room to relax and/or work comfortably. However, I would agree that adding a crib to a room with two double beds can be a little tight but by closing off the french doors to the bedroom allows for other family members to still be able to watch TV, talk , work or relax while the children sleep. Thank you again and the staff and I hope that you and your family have a great summer!

We stayed one night for a wedding. The suites were beautiful! The beds were extremely comfortable. I would highly recommend this place if you have to go to Wilmington....

My only complaint was that the the garage was very tight. Small spaces and a tight turn coming out....
