I tried this hotel recently after 10 years of avoiding it - everything else on 202 was booked. The hotel is about the same as 10 years ago- aging decor, same low water pressure and 5 minute wait for hot water after turning on the shower, and absolutely no soundproofing between rooms and hallway - I could have participated in the conversation next door. The hallways smelled of pest control - but I guess that is a mixed blessing; rooms did not have the same odor. The buffet appeared nice, but rough textured powdered eggs and mushy fruit (probably frozen and thawed). Restaurant staff (surely not the same after 10 years?) still very rule bound - I was alone and requested to sit at a larger table to make reading the newspaper easier, and there were only two others in the dining room - I was told they were reserved for larger parties. I played the "Hilton Diamond" card and was told, well, I guess it's ok ....
The hotel is clean and safe. For my trip, it beat the cost of downtown parking and traffic. Wouldn't be my top pick from all the other choices on 202, but one can endure a short stay.

I'd like to thank you for being a loyal Diamond member and also for taking the time to fill out a review on Trip Advisor. Your feedback is important to us. I am sorry that your recent stay was lackluster and not better than you had hoped it would be. Since you were last here, we renovated the hotel. We have flat screen TVs in all our rooms. Our desk, nigtstand, and dresser all have granite surfaces. Our bathroom has granite bath surrounds and a granite vanity top. The restaurant where you had breakfast was completely gutted to include windows on one side, a built-in buffet with induction burners, a new entrance and of course, furnishings. While we finished renovations at the end of 2007 and beginning of 2008, our housekeeping and maintenance team have a preventative maintenance program in place to ensure our property is keep in great shape. In regards to the restaurant staff, I will be sure to review your comments with our team to ensure we anticipate our guest needs. I will say that our buffet include eggs cooked to order in addition to the scrambled eggs on our buffet. I will make sure our servers are communicating this to all our guests. As for the rest of the buffet, our muffins are baked daily and our fruit cut daily. Our goal is to ensure every guest experience is a positive one, espcially that of our Diamond Hilton Honors member. I do hope you will give us another opportunity to make this up to you.
