Went to Buckley's on Wednesday night and what a dissapointment. First off the parking lot is not marked well as in/out in the dark - be careful.
The place was packed at 7:30 but they have a poor way to find you and let you know your table is available if you can even get a seat at the bar to wait. They sit you in the bar starring at tables and the bar to wait for you table.
Service was excellent, our waitress was great but everything came way to fast, it was get us in and get us out.
Ordered the Onion Rings with our beers (good selection) - taste was good, great panko crust was breading and good but greasy, small portion and a slot for two dipping sauces and only had one.
Fish & Chips was described as a WOW by our server and sounded great on the menu. Portion was small, tastless, greasy and overall we probably would not order this again. My friend ordered the special of the day - a chicken sorta pot pie but with a biscuit. Overall good, lots of chicken but not much in flavor, no side options so for what we spent - it was mediocre at best.
I was hoping to go for the wow factor and find a place close to home for dinner out during the week or a place to meet friends. if you sit in the bar, tables are mostly for 4 and the dining room - well we felt like we were in the dining room of a retirement facility. Bright lights, hunky wooden tables and not very comfy chairs. If you want intimate - its not the place. If you want quiet, forget that.
Sorry to say the old Buckley's is not back. They really need to take a hard look at the menu and really give it a good re-vamp. Just because you are in Centreville \ Greenville times have changed and you need to compete with the local surrounding market.
I tried to contact the restaurant on their website just to give them a heads up but the contact tab is not working. How interesting.
