Rockwood is a 150 year old estate featuring a six acre historic garden and a mansion with a museum. The mansion is typical of Rural Gothic architecture. In the museum, you will find the rooms restored to the way they looked in 1895, the Gilded Age of the Victorian Era. The mansion is absolutely splendid. Our tour guide was originally from the south and was wonderful. The tour takes about an hour or so and there is much to see in the details of each room. The grounds are worth walking around either before or after (or both) the mansion tour. I hgihly recommen visiting this site, especially since it is a short drive from Philly and its suburbs and southern NJ.
