“Good value in a friendly place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2013

We spent one night here enroute to a business meeting. We were worried when we saw how busy and built up the area was on the Concord Pike, but even though the room faced the highway, it was quiet. Very good value, clean room, king sized bed, fridge, Keurig coffeemaker, and best of all, free internet access and lots of free parking. There is a free breakfast which includes assorted breads and rolls, hot oatmeal, assorted cereals, hardboiled eggs, fresh fruit cup, and waffles. I could do without the styrofoam plates, but still, what a choice. This is not a big chain hotel but we enjoyed the friendly personnel and coziness. Did not give a 5 star because there was a large paint stain on the carpet so it needs to be replaced and the toilet made an occasional noise as it refilled. I reported that to the desk when I checked out.

Room Tip: We were on the 4th floor (top) facing the Pike but it was quiet.

I stayed here for a class reunion and I could not have been happier. The location is near the Concord Mall for the great pizza at Cafe Riviera and many of the tourist attractions in the Brandywine Valley. The guest rooms and the public rooms are all very clean and well appointed. The staff is friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

Very friendly staff, clean room, very comfy beds (we had 2 Queen beds). Nice to have the Keurig coffee machine too. Also liked the Paul Mitchell products for use in the bathroom. We did get a little too warm overnight, but realized that the fan was not enough to cool the room down (it was late September, so thought we'd be fine with just the fan), and ended up turning on the AC, and that worked better for us.

Only minor issues were:
1) only 1 each of the caffinated/decaffinated coffee pods for the Keurig machine in the room (especially as I had booked the room for 2 people).
2) the bath drain was slow, but told the front desk about that concern during checkout.
3) Also, the breakfast dining area seemed rather small for the weekend visitors, and almost went back to our room with our food due to lack of seating. Luckily, a table opened up at the last moment, so that saved us the hassle.

But, overall, a great hotel, and would definitely stay here again if/whenever making another weekend trip to the area.

This is a nice change from the national brand hotels. The service is friendly and helpful. The rooms are nicely sized and comfortable. An enjoyable place to stay. With restaurants just walking distance, you don't even need to drive to get a great selection of places to eat.

Our room at the Inn at Wilmington was spacious, clean and comfortable with 2 queen beds and a sitting area with sofa and second tv. The sink was separate from the rest of the bathroom. There was a microwave and a refrigerator. The location was very convenient for those visiting the various museums, gardens and state parks, as well as an economical place to stay when doing business in Wilmington. Although not right in the heart of the city, access was easy and reasonable. The room included a basic breakfast which was good and pretty standard for these types of hotels. Although hard-boiled eggs were available, I do have to say the the scrambled eggs were made of something powderish that bore little resemblance to actual scrambled eggs. Otherwise, everything was good. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would stay there again.

Room Tip: Even being right near the elevator and the ice machine, we were not disturbed by noise.

As a female business traveler, this was a most pleasant stay. The staff is attentive, and the hotel is comfortable and immaculate. Located minutes from downtown Wilmington, the hotel is close to numerous restaurants and shopping. When in town, this will be my hotel of choice.

Spent 2 nights in a handicapped accessible suite with my wife who is in a wheelchair. So called "handicapped accessible rooms usually do not supply a true handicapped accessible bathroom, just a few grab rails and a bench in the tub/shower. This was NOT the case here. Bathroom had a true roll in shower and plenty of room for the wheelchair in the bathroom. The suite was located directly behind the front desk on the 1st floor making it easy for my wife to get to the lobby and breakfast area. The staff was extremely polite and helpful. They were eager to assist in anyway they could Including coming to the room and opening the heavy door for my wife while I was attending a business related class. The complimentary breakfast was better than most and again, the staff was extremely helpful and attentive. I would recommend this hotel anybody and will visit it again if I have reason to stay in the area. Based on my experience here, I will visit other hotels belonging to the Hersha group if the opportunity arises. This was the nicest experience I have had traveling with my wife since she has been wheelchair bound and probably the nicest hotel experience I have ever had. Great place to stay and very affordable.
