“What a treasure in Smyrna!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2013

Based on the recommendation of friends, we went to Trevi when we were in the area. What a great decision that was. We both got fresh pasta dIshes that were rexcellent and the menu had a very good variety of entrees. It was' the "same old" Italian was many restaurants serve. Atmosphere is very pleasant and the restaurant is well decorated.

“Great Place to Go”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2013

I love this place. It is so nice place to go for a "Date Night" or with family and friends. The food is excellent and the owner always speaks to you when you walk in the door. I recommend this place for anyone who wants a good sit down dinner and can enjoy each other's company.

“Rookie Owner,Stupid Mistake”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2013

held a birthday party at trevi; food was good, one waitress for 23 people wasn;'t enough but she hustled her butt off; everything was fine until it came to the desserts. charged $80 for a 1/2 sheet cake that could be bought anywhere for $22-$24: when questioned we were told that they forgot to order the cake and had to have it specially made at a bakery in NJ. Cannolis and creampuffs were also charged a much higher rate than we had talked about and agreed to. When we pointed out that we should have been notified about the cake and if there were other problems, no response. It is apparent that the owner has no common sense-we spent over $1000 dollars and he can't see that the cost of his mistakes are not my problem (cost of doing business stupidly) He now has lost 23 potential customers and my return business. get everything in writing from these people. (he hides behind his general mgr)

“Nice choice in Smyrna”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2013

Trevi is a good spot when you don't want fast food and prefer a nicer sit-down option in town. Quality food with an eclectic atmosphere. Service is a little scattered but still very friendly. On our most recent visit we had calzones, fish dishes, & gnocchi. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Portion size is very generous for the price.

“Excellent food - surprised at the negative reviews”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2013

We have eaten here five times now, and have enjoyed every meal, which is why I am perplexed at some of the negative reviews. We found the food to be delicious. This tastes like real Italian food, not something that you get at some "garden" chain that comes prepackaged and is nuked before serving.

The pizzas are some of the best around, especially the Frank Sinatra, which has Prosciutto, sweet sausage, broccoli rabe, tomato sauce & mozzarella cheese on it, and my personal favorite, the Monte Bello, which is made with roasted eggplant, artichoke hearts, roasted peppers, tomato sauce, mozzarella & provolone cheese and fresh basil. Yes, the basil was fresh leaves, not dried.

One of our favorites here is the eggplant parmigiana. Nicely sliced eggplant, just the right thickness so it is cooked throughout and not chewy. The waitress has always been accommodating when asking for a vegetable on the side instead of pasta.

Some of the appetizers are particularly successful, including one that is sweet Italian sausage with broccoli raab, and they also make a very good antipasto with a decent assortment of meat and cheeses. We have also enjoyed the fried calamari, but it is not their most successful dish, in my opinion, as it tastes like fried calamari from any other restaurant.

We brought a friend here one time, and the soup of the day was a crab bisque. This was made with real crab. How do we know? There were a couple of pieces of crab shell in it. When we brought it to the attention of the waitress, she brought the the owner over, who apologized, brought her a new cup of soup, and took it off her bill. Now, that is an owner that cares about his customers, and earned our repeat business.

We love the fresh baked bread and dipping oil that is brought to your table. The only thing I am not crazy about here is the tomato sauce. To me, it is a bit on the thin and bitter side. Either it needs more substance or some sugar to reduce the bitterness, or both.

We found the waitstaff to be attentive, and the restaurant to be very clean. We did not find everything "dusty" as some had complained. We loved the decor of the restaurant, with the fountain and plants in the middle. It made us feel like we could be sitting in a plaza in Italy somewhere.

In a state filled with chain restaurants, all of which have the same bland, tasteless food, we are happy that we found Trevi.
