We rarely stay some place more than once as there are so many places to explore in the world. However, at the Royal Rose Inn, we have stayed there four times in less than a year with plans to go back as soon as we can. It feels like home when we stay there. It is one and a half blocks from the beach which is close enough to walk easily but out of the wind zone and away from the major crowds of people. The front porch is screened in during the summer and has glass windows during the winter. Breakfast is served there in the morning and frequently, we have gotten take out dinners just so we could sit in the peaceful quietness of the porch and eat our meal there. There is a microwave and refrigerator just for guest usage, as well as ice packs for your cooler, beach towels, and beach chairs. Everything has been thoughtfully prepared for you (down to bandaides in your room for sandal blisters) and if you don't see it all you need do is ask. Andy makes the best breakfasts in the world. Most evenings, you can smell the coffee cake baking for the next morning. The hot tub on the roof is absolutely fabulous, as you can see the stars while you enjoy the relaxation. The best part of the whole stay is the overall atmosphere. It is peaceful, quiet, and cozy. You also feel like you are staying with friends not in a hotel. Every time we leave, I am looking forward to going back the next time.

We really enjoyed our stay. The Royal Rose Inn is perfectly located from the main drag in Rehoboth. Andy, our host, was friendly and whips up an excellent breakfast. The rooms might be a bit cramped for a 6'2" person like myself but they are very comfortable and clean. A very enjoyable weekend. We will definitely be back.

Positives 2 blocks to beach, breakfast, comfy bed, hottub, owner was flexible about checkout times on 3rd day of holiday weekend and did not require minimum stay.

Negatives: Room was tiny, Bathroom even smaller, living room is tiny, queen room off florida room gets all the noise from late night guests in florida room, no ocean view.

For $150 a night, I was somewhat disappointed. I think their rates are a little high for what they offer relative to hotels and other B&B's. While I'll stay in lower priced B&B's if there's value, this is not a value proposition. I think the queen room on the first floor should be no more than$130- $135 during high season. While I'm used to nicer places, For $30 -60 more you can get a place with atmosphere (B&B) or some form of beach view (older hotel)...such places should be more like a 50% premium to this place. Right now their more like a 325-30% premium which makes them a better buy. If the rate in the 1st floor queen was $135 I would say it was reasonable priced..anything less than that would be a value.

This B&B is a great value at the beach. Andy, the innkeeper, was thoughtful and inobtrusive. We failed to bring a lock for our bikes and woke in the morning to find that Andy had taken care to secure our bikes the night before.

The breakfasts were superb. The inn is located close to everything in town, including the beach, and has a great little front porch with a gas fireplace that is perfect for people gazing, morning coffee and evening drinks.

Comfortable, clean rooms, tasty breakfast, and friendly, helpful owners - I'm a big fan of this unprepossessing little B&B. Book well in advance because they fill up fast!

We just returned from a five-day/four-night vacation to Rehoboth Beach, staying at the Royal Rose. Our accomodations were very clean and comfortable. (Central air conditioning kept us cool despite the 90 degree weather.) Our host Andy was always ready to offer tips on things to see and do. The complimentary breakfast offered an ample and tasty selection. The Royal Rose is conveniently located a short walk from the beach, the downtown and a number of night spots and restaurants. Highly recommended.

  • Liked — Pleasant, helpful staff. Central air conditioning.
  • Disliked — No TV in the room. No pool.
