“Elegance at the beach”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2012

Eden was recommended to us during a recent stay. The food and service were very good, and clearly a step up from most of the Rehoboth restaurants. The claim of "bold" seems to be based more on the spices that are added to almost every dish, as opposed to truly innovative cuisine. Prices are high, but not outrageous, and the setting is both elegant and airy. A great diversion from the typical beach places.

“A nice surprise!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2012

Very good food, nice atmostphere, and friendly staff. The ingredients were fresh and local with innovative presentations. Their cocktails were also very nice. All in all, great cuisine - far from the "Rusty Anchors" or "Cap'n Crabby's" of "Pearls of the Sea" you find at the beach.

“Very good but not "bold"”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 6, 2012

Eden Restaurant promises "bold" American cuisine -- there are a couple of unusual items on the menu, such as antelope, but the preparations are pretty standard, not stand-out. It's a beautiful place, with blond wood furniture and wispy white curtains around all the booths, and an excellent wine list. But our food was only so-so -- tasty but not memorable. With prices like these, you expect something truly exceptional, and regrettably, it's not.

“Time for a divorce”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 6, 2012

We have been going to the Eden about 2x a year when at rehobeth de. Started out with deconstructed salads both a little obscure with poorly matched ingredients. Wife settled on a sushi grade tuna appetizer with pine nuts, overly acidic and I had the Brazilian steak, very ordinary with a side of brussel sprouts mashed with bacon which was nothing special. On a special didn't like the dessert choices so wanted to switch to a crime brûlée, and assumed I'd pay extra but was flat out refused. We were not even offered coffee and server was less than hospitable. Guess I'm tired of over priced cute deconstructed whatever. Sometimes restaurants have to be reminded they are in the hospitality industry. Divorced!
