“Food is average, management is horrific”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 28, 2013

My friends and I travel to RB at least a couple times per year and would often eat at Jake's one of our nights in town. Everything always went well until this past September. We had issues with our food and the timing of when various things came out. We tried to talk to one of the managers. I don't know her name, but she couldn't have cared less about our issues. We finally got her to listen to us, and then she asked us to leave! We weren't being unreasonable. We were getting irritated only because of her refusal to listen. This incident occurred on September 15, 2012. I gave the place an average rating because I am being honest about the food. It's good, not outstanding, but I do like it. I would have given it a higher rating if it weren't for this particular incident. Won't be returning here in 2013 unfortunately.

“Best seafood bisque!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 13, 2012 via mobile

We always go this restaurant every year for the bisque. Delicious with the bread and sufficient for a whole meal.

“ORIGINALLY A BALTIMORE FAVORITE!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 8, 2012

A family business now graces 2 locations in Rehoboth beach, t Baltimore Avenue in the summer and Rt1 location all year long. I have always had good food here...they offer the standards and special fresh seafood and fish dishes, from recipes handed down from family. A fun time is to be had here!

“Frozen food at heated prices”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2012

On previous trips to Rehoboth Beach, we would stay at the Comfort Inn. Across the street is Jake's, a seafood house for the locals. If you go on a Thursday night, you can avail yourself of the lobster bake. At $19.95, it is relatively a good value, bearing in mind that the components are resuscitated from the frozen. If you can overlook that, it is a good value. If you are expecting freshly caught seafood, go elsewhere.

Our waiter was new. His lack of knowledge about the town, the restaurant and the food confirmed that. Perhaps with more experience, he will improve with age.

You just can't beat the fact that it was a very short walk from and to the hotel. This time, however, we stayed at the Holiday Inn because I had reward points. Jakes is not that convenient when you do not stay at the Comfort Inn.
