“great location-good package deal in May”

Avenue Inn & Spa

The Avenue Inn has a great location just two blocks from Rehoboth's beach and boardwalk. We found our queen suite room comfortable for a family of four and liked that the sitting room had a pocket door which could be closed if the adults wanted to stay up and read, watch
TV or talk. The room also contained a fridge and microwave which was helpful with small kids.

Rehoboth is jam packed in July/August, so we try to pick a few days at the end of May or early June when the weather looks good. It was 80 degrees on our recent visit in May. It is a great way to start the
summer and it is nice not to have everything so crowded. Although
some attractions and restaurants are not open until Memorial day, most open for weekends in May. The Avenue has an excellent weekday deal in May (stay two nights, get one free), but you do trade off more restaurant/attractions closed during the week. Our small kids love the Avenue's pool and the arcades on the boardwalk so the weekday deal works for us. there is also one mini golf course open during the week at the see shell shop on Rt. 1.

The only negative I had was poor quality of food & wine during the complmentary happy hour, but my five year old loved the complimentary
cookies served at 8 pm.

all in all, good location and rooms for families.

My husband and I just spent a very nice weekend at the Avenue Inn. We enjoyed the clean, well appointed room with two queens, a couch and fireplace. We also enjoyed the balcony affording a nice view from the rocking chairs. The staff was pleasant and attentive. We will definitely go back!

I stayed with my two teenage children on April 12th, 2007. I had a hard time finding a place open since the "season" hadn't started. I saw the advertisment for the Avenue and thought, "Oh boy, lets see how bad I will get taken". I am so happy to say that I was overwhelmed with the place. Extremely nice personnel, wine and cheese in the lobby from 5 to 7, cookies (warm, right from the oven) at 8! The swimming pool! A fireplace in the room, patio overlooking Rehoboth Avenue with two rocking chairs. My only regret...I didn't get to enjoy the Spa. Guess I have to go back......

PS Even the hard to please teenagers loved the place and can't wait to go back!

My parents and I stayed on march 31st. It is within walking distance of the beach and has an entrance on the main avenue, hence the hotel's name.

There are four luggage carts, which is odd considering the small size
of the hotel. It bills itself as a spa, so the toiletries are better than average. unfortunately, the soaps had a lot of unique fragrances, provided they were from bath & body works. i had to use warm vanilla gingerbread because i forgot my own.

I only had one issue with the hotel staff. My mother asked when the hot tub closed. the clerk responded, "the same time as everything else." After a long pause he said, "11 pm."

This property does not offer internet service; besides a simple Dell in the lobby. Those of us with our own pcs are out of luck. Also, the
clerk above tended to use the guest computer to play solitaire.

We were there on the off season. The shopping street side gets quite noisy. Every third car tended to honk its horn loudly.

The hotel is well kept up. Of the three advertised in the lobby: avenue inn, avenue inn 2, and beachview hotel, this one is best maintained. Beachview is much closer to the beach, but the bars get very very noisy. you have to crane your neck past your balcony to get
a view of the ocean.

The cafes accross the street are very good for breakfast. the choclate chip cookies at the hotel are also good. I think the rate was fair, considering the location and room features.
