“Nice place, horrible bed”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2010

My wife and I stayed at the Atlantic Sands for a weekend getaway. The employees at the check-in counter were very nice and answered all the questions we had. The hotel is located on the boardwalk, which was under renovation. Our room, however was in the back of the hotel and faced someone's backyard. The suite had a small living room with a T.V., a desk w/ chair, a couch, and a lounge chair. There was a small kitchenette with a fridge, sink, microwave, and some counter space. The bathroom was standard. Our bedroom had a king sized bed, dresser, closet, and T.V. Everything was great until we went to sit in the bed. The bed was so soft that it immediatley swallowed us up. The bed was really the only downfall of this hotel.

been here a few times with friends. Big hotel, set right on the boardwalk. We reserved rooms actually on the pool level so we just had to walk out our window and your there, pool very nice, but freezing. Nice clean rooms with all the usual coffee makers, hair dryers, etc. To be honest, its like every room in Orlando, but three times more expensive. It is a quaint wee town, absolutely gorgeous at night, the houses and shops are covered in pretty lights all year round I think. Great for walking around, nice eateries, the Idaho Chips from the boardwalk are fantastic, as is the ice cream parlours. I often travel alone, and would feel 100% safe at anytime in this sleepy, unspoilt town

Our family had a wonderful time experiencing the hospitality, the ocean view and relaxing by the pool at the Tiki Bar. The front desk made reservations for us to go to a live show just down the street at a local theater.

We stay at this hotel every summer because it is right on the beach. Every summer they change the rules about getting one of their umbrellas for use on the beach. This year we were able to get one, last year one family took 3 and we lost out. But the price for a room no view was very high but I was able to neogiate them down to a reasonable rate. The pool is not relaxing as it is always overloaded with kids who don't realize they are at the beach.

This was a last minute get away with my best friend and our teenagers to visit her daughter(my god-daughter) who was working in Rehoboth for the summer. Yes...the rooms are pricey but adequate considering how convenient the location is. The front desk staff was very pleasant and check in was very easy, our rooms were small but clean although the balcony could have used a cleaning...chairs were dirty and cement balcony could have used a coat of paint but nice to have a balcony to see the beautiful view. We ate at the Atlantic Grill for breakfast...it was OK but the 20% off coupon provided by the hotel was a nice plus.
Now...the hotel pool...well placed to the boardwalk but although it was cleaned daily the other guests did not treat it well. They acted like it was the pool in their own backyard and had no consideration for the other guests. Left their drink cups and some trash where they had been sitting...keep in mind there is no drink service at the pool so no one cleans up after you...maybe this would have been less of a problem if the staff emptied the trash more often.
Our family has traveled to many different beaches especially the Caribbean and I know the standards are different all over....I'm not spoiled but I do expect some perks when I spend my hard earned money...overall the experience was good I think the hotel needs to take advantage of the winter months to spruce things up a little.

The Atlantic Sands has an outstanding location right on Rehoboth Beach. Walk out of the hotel and you are on the Boardwalk, a few yards from the sand. The Boardwalk and downtown shops are a five minute walk away. The hotel is very clean. There's plenty of parking. The pool is large and well situated. We had a double bed room on the 1st floor (102), overlooking the Tiki Bar. If you have to be on the 1st floor, this is the room to have; there is more privacy here, than on the pool side. The rooms are TINY, as are the beds. The beds are doubles, not queens, so for a family of four it was a tight fit. However, for a quick weekend trip, this was a good choice. My family has also stayed at the Boardwalk Plaza. We would return to either hotel for a return trip to Rehoboth Beach.

Just returned from a long weekend at the Atlantic Sands (Friday to Monday) with two kids. We booked an Oceanfront Room. Check-in is at 4 pm (a little late considering the 11 am check-out time) and was a breeze - no long lines and front desk people were very friendly. The hotel is huge with many hallways and elevators - don't think I ever figured it out. Our room was located on the 3rd floor with a balcony overlooking the boardwalk/beach and the Tiki Bar below us. Only a few minor complaints about the room: 1)it is very tiny for a family of four; 2) the water pressure in the shower was not that great; 3) the shower curtain had mildew on the bottom and 4) the beds were not very comfortable and seemed to be a little old (everyone would end up in the middle of the bed). The room was clean.

The pool area is a nice plus for the kids especially after being on the beach all day. Although by the end of the day the pool was looking a little murky. If was nice having the Tiki Bar next to the pool to get a drink at the end of the day while the kids were swimming. Although we did end up with a charge on our bill from the Tiki Bar which was not ours, make sure to check your bill. They did remove the charge.

Did not try the food at either the Tiki Bar or the attached restaurant.
