“Not worth it!!!!!!!”

The Bellmoor

Aug 23, 2008

At $380 per night in Rehobeth Beach DE, this hotel is a nickel and dime major stretch for the per diem. Upon confirmation, I received an email confirmation indicating that, "for my convenience" a 9% charge will be charged for our room for gratuity!?!? Mind you, this hotel has no room service, no restaurant and no bar!!! I'm not sure where I could spend about $35/day on gratuities??? There is a daily breakfast BUFFET where you serve youself! Upon check-in, I was asked if it was just the two of us of did we have kids. I said we, of couse, had two kids, which was indicated on their website. I was informed that this would be an extra $25 per day PER kid to cover the breakfast. Quick maths says that is about $100 per day for BREAKFAST!!! Bottom line is that I do not mind spending $$ for nice accomodations, but the dollars per ROI for this place does not compute! Buyer beware!!

“Great hotel, but not on the beach (which might be a good thing).”

We had never been to Rehoboth before, so weren't sure what to expect. I must admit that I was a bit disappointed to find that the hotel was about 2 long blocks from the beach, but after seeing how busy and chaotic the beach was, we were glad we weren't right on the beach.

We really enjoyed the 4th floor suite. The 4th floor only has a total of 12 rooms - all suites - is very quiet, and has a common sitting room/library with complimentary soft drinks and snacks.

The staff are all very professional, yet warm and welcoming. Service, from the bellman and housekeepers, to the front desk and restaurant staff, was very good, with adequate attention to detail, without being overly fussy or bothersome.

The breakfast buffet was generous and well-prepared. Very good omelets, along with free NY Times and Washington Post, for sitting in the beautiful outdoor dining area and catching up on the news while enjoying some coffee or tea.

Underground parking, in addition to the outdoor parking area, was quite large and provided plenty of roomy spaces, so you don't have to worry about door-dings.

We will definitely come back, for a quiet weekend getaway, but if we want a beach weekend, we will likely stay on the beach. Be advised, however, that the beach/boardwalk in Rehoboth Beach are very busy, so if you want quiet, staying at the Bellmoor, or someplace similar (away from the beach) might be a better option.

“An Upscale Getaway location in DE”

The Bellmoor

Jul 29, 2008

This is a very quiet beach hotel. Upscale lobby with mahogony furniture a library and living room. The family pool is small and closes at sunset--bummer for those who like to end their night with a swim.

Family suites are the perfect space. We loved having the seperate room for the kids with thier own tv and twin beds.

Hotel seems well maintained.

There is not a food outlet in the hotel. Pack you own cooler -no pool bar or lobby bar. Breakfast is quite nice served in the parlor of the main floor with outdoor seating.

Staff was very professional.

About two blocks to the beach and everything is walkable once you are there.

My husband and I just returned from a midweek stay at the Bellmoor Inn. Many places at the beach are just so so. They charge a lot of money simply because of the beach location. Not so at the Bellmoor. The staff is helpful and courteous, We felt like everyone there cared about our having a great experience.

We stayed in one of the garden rooms, which are just for adults. There is a shallow adults -only pool and beautiful surroundings. It was quite relaxing, away from the busy Rehobeth beach.

Buffet breakfast are included at the Bellmoor. They were quite good, with a lot of variety. There is also a snack hour every afternoon.

The spa is wonderful and has midweek specials.

The feel of the Bellmoor is more like a large Bed and Breakfast than a hotel. We will be back!

The only thing as impressive as the Bellmoor is the staff, who are very attentive, available, and know the beach's hidden gems better than anyone. JD, Bridgette, and Diana knew exactly where to go, eat, and celebrate our vacation. I can't imagine staying anywhere else on our future beach trips.
