PROS:
Affordable.
Convenient
Free Wi-Fi
Free parking.
Rooftop swimming pool (but small)
CONS:
The entire property is in need of a major renovation. Everything from furniture to bedspreads to sheets to carpets and draperies seemed to have been in service since the 80's. And they were probably not in style even when they were new. Really bad taste.
Overall, there was a kind of dingy feel (I don't mean unclean, necessarily) to the rooms. Spotty lighting.
No exhaust fan or night light in the toilet/shower. And door would not fully close, so if one needed to see one's way to the toilet in the middle of the night, the full overhead light would need to be left on, which cast a beam of light into the sleeping area all night long.
A fridge and a microwave were provided, but no coffee maker. Coffee was provided in the lobby, with styrofoam cups and condiments. But one had to leave one's room to go downstairs and get it.
Service from the front desk was very uneven, ranging from a very friendly guy in the afternoons to some surly young females in the morning and evening. There was a lot of attitude, mostly negative, and some of the employees were not well informed about the property, so if you might be needing some concierge-type assistance, forget about it! Not here.
Did not sleep well here. Not great beds.
Inadequate number of clothes hangers provided. There were a total of five hangers, and when we asked for additional ones, they could not supply any more. Many of their rentals, according to the front desk, are for several days in a row. Point being that if someone is going to stay for four or five days, and there are two (or maybe three) guests in the room, five hangers does not even begin to be helpful.
Room size was quite small. When one of us was sitting at the desk using the computer, the other had to crawl over the bed to get to the bathroom.
Wi-Fi, though free, was slow, and on the morning we checked out, could not gain internet access at all.
Guest Laundry room barely adequate (better than none), but laundry detergent dispenser was not working, and one of the two clothes dryers was not in service. It's also a bit of a trek from the main guest rooms to the laundry room at the back of the property. And it's not connected to the main building, so if it happens to be raining (and it was) you and your freshly dried clothes get wet!
Air conditioner's louvers were stationary, and could not be adjusted. The cold air was blowing directly on the person's head who was sleeping nearest the window. Noisy as well. (We traded sides of the bed during the night to keep our heads from chilling.)
The office-type chair provided for the desk was supposed to be raised or lowered. The one in my room would do neither, although the lever for it to do so was there.
All said, we were already shopping around the downtown area looking at other hotels the morning after we checked in. And if we had not been required to pay in full for our entire stay before we checked in, we would have been gone before checkout time.
We will definitely be returning to Rehoboth Beach, but we will definitely not be staying here.
