My husband and 2 college age daughters stayed here for a four day weekend. I booked the hotel because of the proximity to the beach and boardwalk and the good reviews that I read about it. Upon checking in, we were happy to see that it was only a block and a half away from the beach and boardwalk at right on the main drag of Rehoboth Beach, with all of its shops and restaurants. We booked a room with 2 double beds. The room was an average sized hotel room, but the bathroom was very small and dated. The tub was old and stained and in need of a new shower nozzle. Right after we checked in, I gave the room a quick once over and we got changed for the beach since it was a beautiful day. Upon my first quick glance the bed and bathroom seemed clean. After an afternoon at the beach and a lovely dinner in town, we turned in for the night, exhausted. When we got out of bed in the morning, I noticed there was a strange red stain on one of the blankets that had been under the top comforter. It was a pretty dark stain, but somehow I missed it upon my initial inspection. Probably because it was on the middle blanket. I also noticed after our morning showers that the bottom 12 inches or so of the shower curtain was a mildewy pink color. I went to the front desk (who were very apologetic and polite) and explained what I found in our room, they said they would send housekeeping right up. When we returned to the room later in the day, we came back to a clean shower curtain, but the same stained blanket on the bed. It was as if housekeeping had put clean sheets on but left the same dirty blankets there. My family and I get very few vacation days all together. Rather than wasting it complaining about the condition of the bed, I simply stripped the dirty blanket off and only slept on the clean sheets. Everything else about this hotel is pretty good. The location is good, the front desk staff is helpful and courteous, there is free parking at the facility, they have a small pool and coffee in the morning. But having stayed here once, I don't know that I need to again. There are plenty of other hotels to choose from in the area and if the housekeeping staff doesn't know how to properly clean a bed, I am more than willing to try somewhere else. Oh - one more thing that I should add - most of the rooms face the parking lot. The parking lot connects Rehoboth Ave to Wilmington Ave which runs parallel. You get a lot of noise from other tourists that walk through the parking lot to get from one street to another. It can make for a not so restful night sleep.
Rooms facing the parking lot are noisy. Check the cleanliness of your room thoroughly.
