Description: 133 steps to the Atlantic...Blurring the boundary between a night in with friends, and an evening on the town, coastal gastropub cuisine, eclectic wine, handcrafted cocktails, cool beers, laid back livin'. We are locally owned and operated establishment. We start with what we call our kitchens mantra from Julia Child; "You don't have to cook fancy or complicated masterpieces, just good food from fresh ingredients." Our interpretation is too not get in the way of the food, let the ingredients speak for themselves. We mix this altogether with a nice selection of handcrafted cocktails (a must these days), craft brews, and wines, throw it all together in a relaxed beach cottage atmosphere, and try our best to provide you with the friendliest service we know how. There you have it: Shorebreak Lodge.

“Great Find”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2013

We had seen Shorebreak lodge on our other trips to Rehoboth but they have usually been closed with we where there in the off season so this was our first chance to go and try the restaurant for dinner.
The atmosphere is very informal, almost surfer, which is fitting considering the name and the fact its about 1 block from the beach. The service was very friendly, we never felt rushed. we had a nice table right at the window so we could watch the town, what there was of it off season, to go by on Wilmington Avenue.
The food is fresh mostly locally sourced and the menu changes daily. There are large and small dishes depending on your appetite or budget, and they have many specialty cocktails on offer.
If they are open next time we're in town, we will be back.

“Great Find!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2013

Excellent, excellent, excellent! My husband and I dined here on a whim after getting in the car with a suitcase and heading out for a spontaneous overnight adventure out of the Annapolis, MD area. Now we want to come back just to try other things on the menu as it was a hard decision to pick only a few items off the menu.

Service was great, staff was friendly and performed as a team. And the food was fantastic! Just IPA was an excellent ale with notes of lemon and evergreen. Wines reasonably priced. And the food..............oh my! We cleaned our plates from appetizers to dessert. Warm beet salad with Feta, and Thai hot wings with the most delicious in house marinated fresh vegetables were wonderful, Lamb and Chorizo Meatloaf with Mashers to die for, and I had the Surf and Turf with fall apart beef short ribs that were soooooooo rich and flavorful paired with two huge, sweet scallops and risotto. The chocolate lava cake for dessert with ice cream satisfied the sweets cravings.

We are accomplished home cooks and bakers, have been in the food and wine business for 40 years and dined in many wonderful restaurants throughout the country. This little place was a great find that made our trip a lot of fun in spite of the monsoon that raged outside as we dined!

Thank you! Looking forward to another visit!
