Just got back from our stay at the Hampton Inn. The room was nice and the staff did a nice job cleaning it for us. The breakfast was pretty good, but as someone trying to eat better and watch my weight, it was tough some days to find a good choice. Still, they always had cereal and skim milk and plenty of fresh fruit always available. It was much better than you usually get as a free breakfast at a hotel, so I can't really complain too much. They had cable tv, but a small array of channels available, making it hard to entertain my little ones in the morning while getting ready (no Disney or PBS). There was a small fitness room available, which was nice. It just had a weight bench with free weights, medicine balls, a treadmill, stationary bike, an elliptical machine, and an exercise ball. But it had its own towels and special towels for wiping down machines, as well as a TV and a water cooler. Not bad for keeping up with some exercise while away. It was a bit of a ways away from the beach. You could catch two buses, one of which would pick up in front of the hotel, or drive to the park and ride. Otherwise, you had to drive to the beach and pay parking meters. It was quite the ordeal to get to the beach and boardwalk, especially with two young children. The pool was small, but nice. They provided free wi-fi, but it was slow and unreliable. It is fine for browsing the Internet, but we were planning to watch Netflix on our iPad after the kids went to bed. It was impossible. Not a big deal, but I wanted to mention it in case other travelers had similar plans. All in all, we enjoyed ourselves and would stay here again.
