“Good food, good service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013

I enjoyed a lunch here with 3 of my friends during our week at the beach. Two of us had the Mahi Mahi tacos which were yummy. They came with sides of rice & beans, and 3 toppings for the tacos - pico de gallo, cabbage slaw & a lime. The food was hot, fresh & tasted good. We enjoyed the fresh chips & salsa as well before our meals came. I would recommend this place & I would go back. Would like to try the Margaritas next time - but, this time was after an adult night out & drinks just weren't happening.

“Very Bad Service!!!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2013

Seated at restaurant 4 adults and 1 child. They lost our food order and didn't tell us until an hour later!!!!! Took 2 hours to get it and it was incorrect!!!! We asked the waitress for a bowl of rice for the child and got attitude from her!!!! Then the owner came over after 2 hrs to say she was sorry, but that was all. $10 was charged for a child quesidia which barley had any cheese in it.l We then asked for our order to go ( 3 items were appetizers!!!) and the waitress made more nasty comments, because we had asked for more water. We will NEVER, EVER, go back to this restaurant. The owner took no responsibility for the late order or rudeness of the waitress. She could have given us a courteous answer or at least deducted the child's order off the bill. I told her I was going to write this review, and she didn't seem to care. By the way, the food to go was just as bad as the service.

“Real margaritas, made with lime juice and agave nectar...delicious!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2013 via mobile

We wandered by Cilantro on a Summer weeknight and decided to try it out...very glad that we did! First off, the house margarita, on the rocks, at $8, was authentic, potent, and delicious. We saw tacos al pastor on the menu and really enjoyed their version, spicy and authentic, even served with grilled pineapple just like in Mexico. I had the chile relleno with pork filling, which I enjoyed but I think I will go for the traditional cheese-filled chile relleno next time. We had chips and salsa, which were average, and a side of guacamole rather than the larger appetizer version, and it was just the right amount to whet our appetites. Our server was delightful, she knew details about the food and was helpful since it was our first visit. Overall a good experience. The diner who is expecting a typical American Tex-Mex chain restaurant meal, with plates laden with pale tasteless beans and yellow rice, encased in a layer of melted cheese will not be happy dining here....this is more like the food we have enjoyed in our numerous trips to Veracruz.

“Mediocre Mexican”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2013

The Friday evening visit started off very well. Two of us arrived during season without reservations. Instead of being seated at a two-top, we were given a nice table for four. Our waitress quickly arrived to take our drink order. We went with a $35 pitcher of margaritas with a nice tequilla. When the chips and very small dish of salsa arrived, both mediocre. The margaritas arrived, mediocre at best. Later we both asked, "where's the buzz?" I ordered a grilled chicken enchilada, which was decent to good. My partner ordered the vegetarian chile relleno which he described as pretty vapid. We understand that not all Mexican food is spicy, but the meal was lacking in flavor.
