My family has been going to Hobo's since it first opened a couple of years ago. We have always returned because the food has been great and the service hasn't been bad. We recently visited the restaurant on a Saturday evening...after Labor Day...and were seated quickly. After 10 minutes, the owner/chef, who we have met before, came to our table and said that she would be our server until another server was available. After ordering our drinks, it took another 20 minutes for her to come back and get our food order. Then when we tried to hand back our menus, she told us to keep them and read them. That should have been the first sign. Thank god we ordered an appetizer, which was great, but took another 20 minutes to reach us. We asked for plates and they never arrived. We were never asked if we wanted another drink. An hour and 25 minutes after we arrived, our meal came. Granted, it was great, but not worth the waiting. Kati ended up waiting on us and she listened to us complain and was genuinely sorry about the problem. Once we were done, the owner came back over and we then complained to her. For someone who told us she worked in big cities, you would have though that pleasing customers would be number one on her list. She gave us excuse after excuse, saying that yes she shouldn't have sat us, but there was nothing she could do besides comp us desserts. I told her very nicely that our visit was terrible and her comeback was "Was the food terrible?" with a look was wasn't friendly at all. I said that the food was great, but not worth the service that we received. And just so people know I'm not being fair...we overheard at least 3 other tables of people while we were there complaining and asking for the owner. We will not return and that saddens me.
