We've stayed at Melissas's twice this summer (2007) and loved it. If you're looking for a relaxing, comfortable, wonderful old beach house where the owner just lets you be as if it's your own house, then this is the place for you. This is not your typical B&B with lots of fancy antiques and lots of house rules. While it is a bit pricey, you get a lot for your money: a big, delicious breakfast that includes juices, yogurt, cereal, fresh fruit, hard-boiled eggs, sausage or bacon, homemade cakes and homemade waffles (that you make yourself) every day. On weekends, Melissa makes an extra special hot breakfast item. There is also a 24/7 coffee/cappuccino maker, as well as bottled water and sodas. Plus, there is beer and wine whenever you want -- yes, you can just sit on the front porch and drink a lovely glass of wine and watch the world go by. In fact, the porch is one of the best parts of the house, where we ate breakfast every morning and relaxed every afternoon after returning from the beach. You can also eat breakfast in the back yard under a big umbrella, where there is a grill for guests' use should you want to eat dinner "at home." Melissa also provides coolers, beach umbrellas and towels. The only house "rule" is that you have to leave your keys on the kitchen window sill in case Melissa has to move your car, because the owners next door have been less than cooperative with the parking situation. Still, you do have a place to park which is a real plus in Rehoboth. The house is in an ideal location -- less than two blocks from the beach, stores and restaurants. Melissa is not one of those B&B owners is always under foot or overly talkative, but she is available if you need her. The atmosphere at the house is warm and relaxing where you can just come and go as you please -- just perfect for a great stay at the beach.
