“Minimal interactions with limited staff...but that's not always a bad thing!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2010

I made a direct reservation with this motel as the first stop of an Outer Banks weekend. The room was large, very clean and being on the second floor it was very quiet. Knowing I was a solo traveler at the time of the reservation, they put me closer to the main office where I would be away from all the hussle...but what they didn't tell me was that the hussle was Bike Week! Over all, with the location not being on the beach, I had no complaints. A great restaurant "Crabby Dick's" was right next door, and I awoke early the next morning to catch the sunrise at Rehoboth Beach (about 3 miles down the road) so I wasn't bothered by all the bikers. No ammenities with this place but sometimes you just want a decent place to sleep without all the fuss - this is the place!

This place was so clean and affordable we are definitely going back. It was our first trip to Rehoboth Beach and we were happy to be a little off the main drag - it's cheaper, there's no rowdy parties, and we were still close to restaurants and shopping. Crabby Dick's restaurant was right next door, a sushi place across the street, and it was right on the main drag to the beach. The staff was friendly, the rooms were always clean (and we managed to bring a lot of sand back from the beach in our bathing suits everyday... they always cleaned the bathroom up very well.) It is considerably cheaper than everywhere else around it, by at least $100 a night.

I had stopped in a couple of more expensive places in Lewes and on the main drag but they were either too pricey, or too pricey with no guarantee that I would be able to access the internet in my room. I was traveling between jobs and really needed to be able to get online.

I saw the Anchorage across the highway and decided to check it out. The price was reasonable, the room was very clean, and the staff was great. I stayed two nights and was very pleased. As others mentioned, the walls aren't all that sound proofed, but it wasn't too bad. I heard someone cell phone ringing, but that was it.

The bed was also very comfortable and I slept great. I'd happily stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay at the Anchorage Motel in a relatively new room. The motel is directly on the main drag, but we were given a room towards the back of the facility and it was quiet. The room has a microwave oven/fridge combination which is always great at the beach. The room was spotless and so was the large bathroom. One warning....bring your own shampoo and hair dryer. None are provided and are not available at the desk. The motel is in a good location, just about ten minutes from Rehobeth Beach and across the street from one of the outlet shopping centers.

If you can live without a couple of toiletry/comfort items (no shampoo and conditioner or in room coffee) and can handle being able to hear your neighbors (thin walls) this motel is PERFECT!!!! Seriously, the housekeeping staff here could teach the ones at the last four star hotel we stayed at a thing or two about how to keep a completely spotless hotel room. The room had zero dust, smelled fresh, and the sheets were blinding white. We had one towel that had a stain on it . I'm cleanliness obsessed, so I called housekeeping for a replacement. Not only did they replace the towel with a clean one, but they inspected every single towel left in the room to make sure that they were up to standards before they left! Amazing! The location isn't boardwalk but its only a couple of miles away. It definitely didn't inconvenience us to make that short trip. The Anchorage's room rates were so reasonable that we were able to stay an extra night. Give them a try.... and don't forget to pack your shampoo! :)

This motel is not beachfront, and its not in the Rehoboth village area near the shops, boardwalk and gazillion parking meters. The beds are comfortable but you're not sleeping on a cloud. You may be able to hear voices from the guests next door. There's no spa or room service. Instead, what you get is a clean room, friendly staff, free WIFI, a location on Route 1 that's a quick drive to the outlets, restaurants, movies, etc.

My friend and I went to Rehoboth to winterize her camper at a local camp ground and do a little shopping at the outlets and the Anchorage was the perfect choice. The rooms were very clean, the staff was very nice, the price was ideal and the location perfect you are within a few miles of downtown and the beach as well as all the outlet store and a multitude of great resturants. The bonus was it is located beside Crabby Dicks one of my favorite dining spots when visiting Rehoboth.
