“Nice, no frills hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 6, 2013 via mobile

Stayed one night to shop at Rehoboth outlets. Room was large, clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. I would stay here again. Location was great, close to beach and outlets. Good value for the price!

A pleasant surprise in the off-season.

We came from NJ on the ferry on brisk winds as a result of a depression in the central states. Finding the place was relatively easy. Our GPS ceased to work. Even without that, - it was easy.

The hotel is much like other hotels under the Choice umbrella. What makes just his hotel an exception, was the receptionist when we arrived. If I was a part of the Choice management, - I would consider this individual for greater responsibility. (Hint: He is of Turkish origin..) The next days there were other employees that did a good job..

“The exceptionist” spoke fluent English, - not essential for a good stay, - but it adds to the experience of a good stay to be understood? He knew the area and gave several options on what to do, never giving me the impression that “time was up”. He gave good advice on where to eat, especially a place next door. The food was so excellent that we decided to do it two days in a row. Being senior ourselves, we felt like juniors in that crowd. Not many below the age of 80.

In our room, - the maid had forgot to pick up the cover for an earplug. As a teaser I dropped that item in the reception area to experience the interval before it disappeared. Our excellent receptionist swept it away without hesitation. Not all “behind the desk” are that willing to do what is not exactly their job. The maid also left a disinfectant spray-bottle in our room.

The hotel alarm clock in our room started to make a racket at 7:00, but by then we were already up. The maid should always adjust the clock to “no awakening”. The maid also made the bed “back-forward”. Strange! We had to rearrange it.

The room we were given was an upgrade to suite, - due to the off-season. The TV was an old CRT device, but worked nice and gave us a pleasant evening, even with the program American Idol.. This is a place we would like to get back to.

There was an exercise room with one treadmill. There was a water-cooler, but not water and no cups. Towels were in place, but no swipes to clean the items for your own sweaty palms. There is a small flat screen TV. The door lock was faulty, which in my mind is safety issue. Women exercising alone should have the privilege to do that behind a lockable door.

The breakfast was decent, but not outstanding. There were thin hamburgers and pancakes. We had to ask the attendant for more bread, Styrofoam cups and milk. He later apologized for the inconvenience. It is an unwritten rule that the restaurant employee should always take a look around to check on items and customers before leaving the room. While we were having breakfast, - this guy came in talking on his phone, - loudly! A breakfast room is built with tiles and bare walls for easy maintenance. Even a slight sound makes a nuisance. This guy should get his “social antennas” fixed on how to behave amongst fellow human beings while talking on the phone! He totally embraced the two of us with his loud appearance and we were forced to leave! I missed a sign saying; – Taking on your phone here, - may have you shot!

Never the less; - it is a hotel above average, but not yet an award winner.

Undergoing renovations and they are doing a first class job of it. Most hotels are OK for a short stay but this one made us sorry we had to move on. it would have been enjoyable to stay a whole week at this property. New furniture, carpets, bathrooms, TVs, AC, the works. Super clean, quiet, large rooms, friendly desk staff, full floor to ceiling tub enclosures, slate floor tile and granite counters in bath. Rate was very reasonable considering the quality and the fact that it was a holiday weekend. Have stayed at hotels in Rehoboth at twice the price that are not as good.

This hotel is located near the beach however you have to walk and it's about a 10-15 min walk. To drive to the beach/boardwalk you have to drive about 10 -15 minutes to the beach access point. The rooms were a very nice size. I would say i was pleasingly surprise of the spacious room. Lighting in the hallways were dim. The pool was small but okay. However they don't have a outdoor pool if you are thinking of staying in the summer months. Biggest complaint had to be the breakfast. It was not impressive. Sausage appeared undercooked, no fresh fruit, bagels were hard, the coffee was not good at all and the hot breakfast was warm at best. My husband had a cup of coffee, one egg and with a sausage and had a stomach ache for most of the day. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. overall it's okay for a night or two but if you are looking for a location with beach views and easy beach access, with good breakfast you may want to look elsewhere also if you decide to order Chinese food from a place that delivers, China wok is not a place we would order from again.

We visited off season and the hotel is located a few long blocks away from the entrance road to the Boardwalk. You will need to drive to a beach entrance but the hotel is clean and the staff friendly. Good rates and cleanliness will bring me back every time. The only issue was missing covers on electrical outlets. Not a deal breaker but not a stellar experience. The indoor pool is small but clean.

We stay at this hotel often since my family lives in town. The hotel seems fairly new, but recently it feels like it is falling apart. The fan in the bathroom was falling out of the ceiling, no electrical covers on the outlets, clocks and phones missing from the room and DIRTY! If the maid can't easily get to it, it WILL NOT get cleaned. We found the previous guest trash under the bed, next to the wall and tons of old food between the fridge and cabinet. The doors in our suite didnt shut all the way and even if they did, the locks don't work. Better still are the TVs from 1990 and there's a possible blood stain on the floor. We've stayed in this room 3 times, always there. They don't even try. So, why stay here? Well, space. Biggest rooms, convenient location, decent breakfast, good parking. Breakfast is ok, but typical. Wifi is terrible. My suggestions as I will not be coming back until they prove they have done a complete remodel.....put a real heater in the pool so you can actually use it, renovate the rooms to health and safety standards, lower your out of season rates. NO ONE was even in the hotel when we were just before NewYears. The staff is super friendly every time, all the time! Choice Hotels, shame on you for not recognizing your diamond in the rough.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the top floor, on the back of the hotel for the quietest room.
