“We are definitely coming back!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2010

We attended a reception for my great nephew's wedding at another location in Rehoboth Beach DE. When we received the invite their was no mention of places we could stay and we needed to stay a few days. I found this gem on the internet and found a great price through hotels.com. No other hotel was at this special rate and it was on the beach our favorite spot to be. The location is magnificent the room was great but we wanted an addtional bed as we had one king, they upgraded us to a suite with 2 queens size beds. Whoever is writing poor reviews for this hotel are not beach goer. It's a great upscale beach hotel, the staff was very friendly and I don't know why I never heard of it before. We will definitely be going back. the service was great, I walk from the hotel onto the gorgeous beach and the boardwalk offered a good walk with food and little shops. Parking was provided the continental breakfast was just what is a continental breakfast but for the price and the location it's not a big deal.

We didn't stay in the room all that much, as we were mostly out on the boardwalk or on the beach. Everything was clean and the staff was courteous and friendly. The only negatives were the insect trap boxes in the room, although they were well hidden, we could still see the one behind the refrigerator and the one behind the bathroom trash can.
Bring a pad for the bed if you have back problems, I had read that the beds were hard and I knew to do that.
Great location by the beach - has its own entrance to the beach and boardwalk and lots of luggage carts to use (no bellhops, but easy to manage the carts).

I was a little nervous about staying there after reading some of the reviews, but we were so happy with everything about the hotel, and plan on going back every year if possible. It's a very cost efficient place to stay, and I think maybe those that wrote unflattering reviews are the type of people who always want something for nothing. The rooms were neat and very clean, and our side balcony view of the ocean was fantastic. There was a refrigerator and microwave, and coffee pot for morning, and continental breakfast downstair if you wanted. The location at the north end of the boardwalk was just right and we found the beach and boardwalk in front not as busy as farther down towards town. It's close to downtown and you can easily walk to many great eating places close by - make sure to try the Lobster Mac N Cheese at Victorias just down from the hotel on the boardwalk.

If you are looking for something on the beach that is a good value, then this would be a good selection, The rooms were clean and had ocean views, but it was lacking in nice touches, and the front desk was not very helpful. We would go back, however, due to the good location, free parking, and room cleanliness.

I had stayed at the Royal Rose Inn and the Admiral Hotel, and neither are as nice as this one. This is a decent, clean, nice hotel right on the beach. I kept saying to my friend, "I can't believe we paid only $160/night for this place!" (We stayed during the week.) They could easily charge more. We stayed on the 6th floor, and we were able to see the ocean from both sides of the room: from the entrance (this view was gorgeous!) and the balcony. (Ask to stay on the 6th or 7th floor so you get the same effect.)

The room has everything you could want at a place like a Hilton or other brand-name hotel. There is a fridge, coffee maker and microwave. We had two sinks that were separate from the toilet and shower. The beds were comfortable and the TV had plenty of stations. The front desk staff was always friendly and helpful.

The downsides: the air conditioner is loud, and we had trouble opening /closing our door becuase of the humidity. They will give you keys that you can put on your key ring. Perhaps if the hotel switched to electronic cards instead of using keys, this problem would be resolved.

The view is beautiful and the value can't be beat. We will stay here again and again!

My wife and I were looking for a quick beach get-a-way with our two young children. We found this hotel and did the research using tripadvisor. Some of the reviews acared us but the $125/night rate was too good to pass up. The hotel is older but our room was updated. Many reviews complained about the noise of the A/C units but I didn't notice. The room was clean and you are literally steps from the beach. It is a short walk down the boardwalk to all of the shops and restaurants. The prepackaged breakfast was not what I was expecting but we went out to breakfast instead. The staff was friendly. We were able to park and head out ot the beach while our room was being prepared. We were still able to check in an hour early. The fact that there is no ramp down to the boardwalk made is difficult to maneuver a stroller but we managed just fine. The beds were comfortable and big. The changing rooms/showers were great. We were able to checkout the mornign of ou rlast day and still head out to the beach. Even though we were already checked out we were able to use the facilities to shower and change before the roadtrip home. Overall you really can't beat the price and the locationg to the beach. It's a great stay for the cost.

I have recommended this hotel to colleagues already! It is a definite "no frills" hotel, but we went to Rehoboth to hang out on the beach and boardwalk. It was clean and comfortable when it was time to change clothes or sleep.
