Beautiful views, quaint Victorian decor, well maintained property. The decor may be over the top for some. Very responsive staff moved us to a new room when they discovered that some construction would be near our room. The tub in the suite? Not quite sure about that one...

Lovely Victorian style hotel right on the Rehobeth boardwalk. Very convenient location within walking distance of shopping and restaurants. The hotel is not what you would typically expect at the beach. From the unique decor in the lobby (complete with parrot cages and an awesome antique fireplace) to the dining room to the guest rooms, it is like taking a step back in time to the Victorian era. We stayed in several different rooms, an ocean front jacuzzi room, a standard room and a jacuzzi suite. All three were very modern with extremely comfortable beds and yet the furnishings had an antique feel. The beds are high and include a step stool for easy access if needed. The fourth floor is adults only and is accessible by a specially programmed room key. We visited during a cold and blustery period in November. My husband was in the Rehobeth area on business. It would have been the perfect time for a quiet weekend getaway. I am sure in the summer when the hotel is full, it is not so quiet. The hotel staff was helpful and friendly. Free underground parking is a plus. We would love to come back and stay again.

Room Tip: Couples might prefer the adults only fourth floor.

If you like antiques, comfort, close proximity to the beach, then this is the place for you. My husband and I stayed for the Seawitch weekend - our first time in Rehoboth. This hotel is easy to find and right on the boardwalk with easy beach access. It is a short walk on the boardwalk to the main shopping part. There is outdoor parking and an underground parking lot. Sometimes these do get quite full tho. The lobby décor is very B&B looking with antiques and fireplace. It is nice to sit in front of the fire while enjoying their complimentary homebaked cookies and cider in the afternoon -yum! There is a yellow colorful parrot and a larger bird who like to talk and whistle when you walk away.
Our two rooms included a sitting room and the bedroom. Both were clean with ample storage. There was a refrig but it was one of those honor ones already full with no room for your own items. We just kept our cooler on the balcony and that worked out well. The furniture was Victorian with nice décor but a bit worn and scratched here and there. Bathroom was nice size with better toiletries. Our balcony sat two with a small table so we could sit out and enjoy the sunrise, eat lunch or watch the costume dog parade below us. The view was one of the best features!
We also enjoyed the elevator with the glass enclosure to the outside and the very good restaurant called Victoria's on site. The concierge is very helpful and friendly. The front desk personnel were kind enough to take our blue ices and put them in their freezer for us the night before we checked out since we had a few hours drive home.
Although this is a bit of an expensive hotel to stay at, we felt it was worth the price for the amenities, and location. We would stay here again. Wishing you safe travels!

Thank you so much for staying with us, and for your review. We're glad you came to visit during the Sea Witch Festival and enjoy the dog parade passing your balcony. We agree that it is a lot of fun and you had a bird's eye view!

Great clue for future guests who would like to converse with our feathered mascots, too! Peanut, the African Grey, does in fact know how to talk, but tends to do it when you turn your back on him in order to get your attention. Next time you're here, say hello then turn around and you may be rewarded with a phrase or two. Emro, the colorful sun conure, only speaks bird language (so far) but will certainly whistle his welcome to you.

Again, thanks for choosing us, and for your kind comments. We look forward to welcoming you back to the Boardwalk Plaza in the future.

Note to potential guests – my husband and I have very stressful jobs and we were looking forward to staying at the Boardwalk Plaza for a well-deserved “QUIET” mini-vacation. Unfortunately, because of remodeling of the hotel next door we were first awaken by a garbage truck at 7:00a; followed by the noise of the construction work at 7:30a. Realizing the hotel has “no control” over the noise I wished we were told of the construction and staff would have recommended another room at the far end of the hotel away from the noise – since the hotel appeared to be empty this would have been feasible. Very disappointed that we were not able to sleep in and enjoy our mini-vacation! The only compensation was "sorry".

Please accept our sincere apologies that the construction noise from next door disturbed your stay. You're right -- although we had no control of it and no warning of when it was going to begin, we certainly should have moved you if another accommodation was available, and I'm sorry that we missed our opportunity to provide you with the restful getaway you deserved. We have learned our lesson, and are now doing our best to keep our guests to the other side of the building whenever possible. Again, our apologies.

We have been visiting this hotel for about 10 years--one overnight per year. We cherish the warm welcome we received this year from Tim, Mike and Luke at the front desk, the comfortable rooms and comfortable bar--more like an English Pub (and that is a compliment). We visit in November so we really enjoy the Boardwalk, quiet streets and usually mild weather in this part of the country. We would recommend this hotel to everyone!

Room Tip: The suites with the jacuzzi are particularly nice.

Thank you very much for your comments! We are always happy to welcome guests back to the Boardwalk Plaza, Victoria's and the Plaza Pub.

More and more guests are discovering the joys of Rehoboth Beach in the off-season. While the hustle and bustle of the summertime has en energy of its own, the shoulder seasons do offer a bit more serenity and the ocean and beach are certainly beautiful all year 'round.

Come back and see us again, soon, and fall in love with the winter and spring seasons, too!
Have a wonderful holiday season.
