“Restaurant is very overpriced for mediocre service.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2013

We have stayed at this hotel many times in the past. This time we paid premium prices for the New Year party. Will never pay for food again. We have food allergies and our only recourse was to skip the meal we had paid for. When we complained upon check-out we were told we should have ordered and paid for room service.

Room Tip: Heat does not work properly. Restaurant not worth the cost.

“Christmas at the Boardwalk Plaza Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 26, 2012

My husband and I visit Rehoboth every summer, staying at motels out on the highway, but we last visited during the off season in 2003, when we stayed at the Boardwalk Plaza Hotel. This year, we decided our Christmas gift to each other would be a stay at a great hotel, so we traveled back to the Boardwalk Plaza Hotel, where, after nine years, we were greeted as repeat guests. Dave at the front desk was particulary helpful, although the entire staff was excellent.

The hotel is Victorian-themed, which may not be everyone's cup of tea, but it's beautiful at Christmas. We booked a room on the Concierge Level (fourth floor) which includes amenities such as turndown service, fluffy bathrobes in the closet, and a later check-out than the rest of the hotel. We had an ocean view suite near the front of the hotel, so we had a nice view of the ocean. The suite is laid out with the bedroom as the first room you walk into, followed by a small hall with a huge sink/counter on one side and the bathroom on the other, and then the sitting room, with a sliding glass door to the balcony. The room was very clean and cozy, and the beds were super comfortable.

We had Christmas dinner in the hotel's restaurant, Victoria's, which does a great buffet. I particularly enjoyed the sweet potatoes glazed with brown sugar and bourbon, and my husband loved the assortment of seafood.

If we can get the time off from work next year, we will definitely be going back. It was a wonderful way to spend Christmas, and we really appreciate all the staff who made our two days there so special.

Room Tip: It's very quiet on the concierge level, which is adults only.

“What a nice surprise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 23, 2012

Went to the Boarwalk Plaza for the first time; we go to Rehoboth every year in December to celebrate my friend's birthday. The room was absolutely beautiful and, the beds were super comfy. Had a note in our room to call for a birthday treat; we did, expecting a small cake and got a fruit and cheese plate, champagne and a small vase of fresh flowers. What a nice surprise!

Also, staff was extremely friendly and enjoyed talking to them very much. Will definitely return.

Room Tip: We had an ocean view room; and, as I said above, the beds are extremely comfortable. Our room was ve...

“Really neat hotel...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 22, 2012

My husband and I were supposed to stay at a neighboring hotel but there was a wild sorority party so we left and they directed us here. What a neat hotel. Very cool design, intentionally antiquated. The rooms are clean, the service outstanding. the only thing that kind of bothered my husband and I was that we felt like we were at his grandmas house ;) . There is a hottub on the roof,

Room Tip: see if you can get upgrade to the hot tub on the roof.

“Clean and Quiet”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 9, 2012

Went off season and enjoyed a quiet weekend on the boardwalk. Ocean front room without the oceanfront crowds :). Service impeccable and room clean; even had a little sitting room. Larger balcony would be nice but a cute little one two little chairs was just fine.

Room Tip: Off season it is a great place to relax
