“A most accommodating accommodation”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2011

Treated like royalty by all staff. As if they couldn't do enough for us. Greeted by a funny talking parrot was a special treat. Rooms elegantly appointed and comfortable. Dolphins dancing in the surf added magic as I watched from the balcony. Good meal at the pub, ordered coffee to bring up to my room, and the bartender offered to carry it up for me..this Noel serves her city proud, and I'll be back for sure!

Room Tip: From what I can tell, all rooms are a best room

This unassuming hotel on the boardwalk in Rehoboth is easy to just pass by, but it's a hidden gem. This is an old Victorian-style hotel and is unique in that respect - from the parakeet in its cave to the bellhop in a tuxedo to the photos and the curtains and the "saloon-style" bar & restaurant. You feel transported to a different time. It's an intimate, comfy establishment with a great location and ocean views (in most rooms). The off-season rates are very affordable ($125 a night). Parking is free. There is an indoor heated pool. Room service is refreshing and polished (when requesting tea, a staff member came up with a variety pack for me to pick from). The restaurant is delicious. The rooms are cozy and come with a CD player and a CD of piano music from the house pianist. The standard room had an ocean view and balcony, which was nice despite the cold weather. The mini-bar of food and beverages is very affordable ($1.25 each?) compared to more grandiose establishments. There is even a microwave in the room. The only complaint is that the bathroom lacks amenities like mini-shampoo, conditioner, even soap and water glasses. Kind of strange. The bathroom is quite small. But overall a wonderful experience and I hope to come back again next time I'm at the beach.

Room Tip: The standard size room is fine.

From the moment you walk into this beautiful hotel, you are greeted with smiles from all the employees. The bell staff was perfect, the front desk extremely helpful and couldn't do enough. It was our anniversary and the management sent up a lovely platter of cheese and crackers and two small bottles of champagne. It was lovely and completely unexpected. The weather, unfortunately, was very cold, so walking on the beach wasn't in the cards. Yet, the room was right on the ocean and the sunrise was a sight to behold. It's less like a hotel and more like a special 'inn' where everyplace you look is just beautiful. It sits right on the ocean so no matter where you are, you get the spectacular views! This is the perfect place to get away. The suites are large and there are 2 tv's. Towels are plush a beautiful; shampoos and such are way above average.
We came from N.Y. and will be back. Thank you to the entire staff! You made our get-away PERFECT!

Laying in bed, watching and listening to the surf was amazing. The bed was extremely comfortable, the room was large and very relaxing. Even the hot tub had a view of the beach! I had an opportunity to sit on the patio, drink my coffee and watch the sunrise! The staff was more than accommodating, taking care of our every need whenever we needed it. I'll be staying here again and again.

We love this hotel and will not stay anywhere else when we visit Rehoboth. When you enter the Boardwalk Plaza, you feel as you've stepped back in time--and this is a good thing. The parrots in the lobby, the Victorian accents, everything is warm and welcoming. It is small enough to be romantic, and you can't beat the oceanfront view. The staff is always so kind and helpful, the restaurant has amazing food, the rooms are beautiful, but the hotel is not stuffy. We always feel like we're coming home when we visit. My only request is that they would allow pets someday--I hate leaving my dogs at home!

We stayed here for one night over President's Day weekend. I had read some mixed reviews on this site so wasn't sure what to expect. The hotel exceeded my expectations though. Everyone we encountered, from the desk staff, cleaning staff, maintenance staff, bar tender, and wait staff, was friendly and accommodating. There were always numerous people to help you at the front desk at any time. Our room was on the 4th floor concierge level which is for adults only. We didn't hear any noise from neighboring rooms or the hallway even though the hotel seemed fairly full. We had an ocean front room with a jacuzzi. It is truly oceanfront with a great expansive view, and a small but usable balcony. Yes, the decor is quite Victorian; if you absolutely hate Victorian you will not be happy. But the room is clean and well appointed. The bathroom is rather small but clean. Listening to the ocean as you lie in the jacuzzi is wonderful. I will say that I have allergies and I noticed that they acted up after being in the room for a short time. I think this is likely due the possibility of mold growth under the carpet that gets wet from the jacuzzi. We asked for an air purifier and they brought one up right away. It helped to leave the window open a crack too. I have asthma and that's why I had problems, my boyfriend did not have any effects at all. The pool/spa is quite small but they have adult only swim hours at night and we really appreciated that. We did hear a lot of noise at night from the outdoor spa area as people tried to converse over the spa jets and the sound really carried. But you could avoid that by asking for a room some distance from the spa--we were right above it. All in all we really liked the hotel and would go back again.
