For my 20th anniversary party in Rehoboth Beach, my husband and I decided to stay at a dog-friendly B&B so that we could travel with our sick dog. Unfortunately, our dog died prior to our stay. So, we stay at this pet-friendly place with my in-laws and friends and no dog. We had all three of the upstairs rooms. One room downstairs was reserved by another couple with their dog.
Our room was large and comfortable. It was very clean and neat with a small bathroom. From the hallway, it's a step down into the room. The innkeepers labeled it well, but nonetheless, we tripped almost every time we entered the room.
A flat screen TV & DVD player was provided and internet access was available. We never turned them on, so I can't comment. DVDs could be borrowed from the common area downstairs.
The only downside about the B&B was that it is along a major road at an intersection. Although this was mentioned in several other reviews, my mind was disoriented and in the middle of the night I kept noticing flashes and although I never heard thunder, I thought that we had lightning. The next morning, when discussing it with my husband, I realized the "flashes" were actually headlights. Of course, I did hear traffic noises throughout the night, but somehow never connected the two.
The location is near enough to Rehoboth Beach, but, certainly not walking distance. It is about 3 miles away. If walking distance is necessary, I would stay elsewhere.
Common areas at the B&B were limited indoors, basically consisting of a breakfast room. A screened wrap-around porch, fenced-in dog walking area and pool area were also accessible. Although, obviously the pool was closed in October when we went.
The breakfast consisted of coffee (Keurig), tea, water and juice along with choice of cold cereals, bananas, bagels and English muffins.
By the time we arrived, my in-laws had already checked us in and the next morning we enjoyed breakfast together. I never saw the people taking care of the inn at all --- the owners were out of town and the caretakers were off-premises. A phone number was provided in event of emergency. So, it was like we were occupying a place anonymously -- kind of strange. We left the keys in the room and left.
