“Wonderful pet friendly B&B.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2013

My partner and I wanted a weekend getaway and wanted to bring our 4 year old Labrador Retriever. We found Homestead on pet friendly travel sites and they had great reviews. The email responses to our questions were quick and personal which reflected the sincerity of the owners. Upon arriving we were greeted immediately and felt at home. Our room on the second floor was spacious and very clean. Beautifully decorated. All the comforts of home. Although on a street corner the road noise disappeared once we were inside. Very nice fenced in yard for our dog. Towels provided just for them and treats in the breakfast room. The full breakfast for us was absolutely delicious. We noticed many repeat guests so we will do the same. A must stay in Rehoboth beach when you travel with or without your pet. You may get to meet a few well mannered dogs.

My husband and I along with our 4 year old Portuguese Water Dog picked this B&B for a quick 2 day visit to Rehoboth Beach and Lewes specifically so we could bring "Piper" along and not have to kennel him. He's a great traveler and we all LOVED the place. The inn is very clean, the food was great and the inn keepers were so friendly and helpful providing us with lists of dog friendly restaurants and beaches for Piper to play on. He loved sleeping on the big beds and having run of the screened in porch as well as playing in the fenced in dog yard---especially when there was another dog to play with. We would definitely come back again ! M&K and Piper too

Room Tip: We had the upstairs Sunflower room which was no problem for our dog at this age. Very comfortable b...

My husband and I spent 4 days at The Homestead with our 22 month old aussiedoodle, Gracie. It was our first visit and it will most definitely not be our last. We stayed in the first floor Garden Room which is a nice size for two adults and a large dog, and it has very convenient direct access to both the common area/dining room and the screened in porch, and is just a short walk to the fenced pet area. The inn keepers are extremely friendly, accomodating, and helpful, and the home-made breakfasts are delicious and a great way to begin each day! The room was clean and comfortable, the inn and the grounds are very nicely maintained, and we found the location to be an easy driving distance to several dog-friendly beaches and restaurants. The only change we may make on our next visit is to stay in The Cottage. We took a tour and were quickly sold on its roomy size and the fantastic convenience of the private, fenced yard which includes a deck and a grill!

Room Tip: See review for Garden Room advantages.

My wife and I, along with our 6 month old puppy, enjoyed our stay at the Homestead. The inn keepers were great and even helped out when we had some car issues. The breakfast food was wonderful every morning. We would definitely consider staying again.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights and we had a faublous time (our 1st visit). We are new dog owners and we did not want to board our new puppy overnight at a kennel. The Homestead is very clean, charming, and the inn keepers are very accomodating and friendly. Breakfast was yummy and the home-made sweet breads were delicious. Also, it was very convenient to bring our puppy to a good doggie day care nearby so we could escape to the beach during the day but have him with us in the evening. I would highly recommend the Homestead and we look forward to staying there again. During our stay all of the dogs were very well behaved. :)

We planned a quick Birthday getaway in a few days and found Homestead the best choice for us and our dog Callie.Very inviting staff and owners. We choice the first floor room off the side porch . A quick easy doorway to the side yard for the dog . Great breakfast selections every morning ! First time to bring our pet with us on this quick trip and was one of the best times we have had in a long time ! Thanks to Mary and the staff at The Homestead .

My husband, our dog and I stayed here and it is a very cute place. Only about 3-4 miles from the beach. We found a beach on Lewe's to take our dog and it was wonderful!! white sand and ocean!! Couldnt ask for better. The only thing is if your dog is older make sure you get the ground floor room. Breakfast was great and they had coffee and tea all day. We stayed in the Sunflower Room and it was great. had our own private bath,tv(they had movies to use downstairs). The landscaping is just gorgeous!! We definately will go back again maybe next year!

Room Tip: downstairs for older dogs. Maybe the cottage? That looked very private and on the first floor.
