Only Middle-Eastern food in Newark worth eating. Shawrmas and Gyros are always a safe bet. Located in the heart of UD campus, makes it ideal for students.

If you're looking for an interesting diversion, Ali Baba's the place. Being a veggetarian, Ali Baba's menu is fairly wide open territory for me. I truly enjoy their eggplant salad and the stuffed grape leaves. The atmosphere is also nice and the prices are decent.

“Ali Baba: Middle Eastern Restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2007

I travel extensively for work and it's always fun to discover a really good restaurant while on the road. This Middle Eastern restaurant is in Newark, DE on the main commercial strip near the UD campus. It was delicious. As a vegetarian, I was pleased to see at least two vegetarian entrees on the menu and lots of appetizers. They are open late (11:00 p.m. or later on weeknights, which was very convenient for my schedule). The staff was incredibly friendly, and the atmosphere was great. Highly recommended!
