Everything about our 5 night stay (over Easter weekend) was GREAT at this hotel. We are a family of 4; 2 adults, a 14 yr old son and 12 yr old daughter, so instead of booking 2 rooms, we booked a "large one-bedroom suite" which had a separate king-size bedroom, a living room with pull-out sofa, and a kitchen. We bring our own cot for one of the kids to sleep on as well, so everyone has their own bed.
We arrived after dinner on Friday night - check in was a breeze as everything was correct. The hotel - which is fairly new - is easy to find, and has a TGIFriday's right next door. Just off I-95, it is only 10 minutes to Rte 202 and downtown Wilmington, and only 45 minutes to downtown Philadelphia.
Our room was on the 5th floor, and easily reachable using either the 2 elevators or the clean, bright, stairs. The living room and bedroom were large and bright, and the kitchen was clean, with dishes/cutlery/pots and pans, full fridge, microwave, 2 burner cooktop, and toaster oven. The king-size bed was GREAT! The room was quiet (as was the hotel in general).
Included in the room was a full breakfast buffet every morning - which varied from french toast to waffles with eggs, bacon, sausage, hashbrowns, cold cereal, toast, fruit, yogurt, juice, coffee/tea etc. etc.. Adriana was there almost every morning, and made sure everything was right - Thank you Adriana!! There was always food, fresh and hot, and the kids loved it. There was even a dinner offered on Mon & Tues evening, although we didn't take advantage of it, since we were out.
The indoor swimming pool was great as well (this - other than the separate king bedroom in the room - was the other reason we chose this hotel) - clean and bright. The exercise room was well-equipped too. We used the business-center to search the web for places to see/directions, and it was nice to have free internet access and a printer available there anytime.
Never before have we stayed somewhere where SOMETHING didn't bother us, or wasn't right. Cudos to the staff and management (even the Mgr called us after we arrived to welcome us and offer any help we might need, then called us on our last day to thank us for visiting and to make sure our experience was a good one!). There is no doubt that we would stay there again.
We were heading south and left early to beat a snow storm, we drove until we were south of the snow and just happened to stop in Newark....stopped at the Embassy first and was told they were sold out (apparently a soccer tournement in the area) so we stopped next door at the Homewood Suites....they only had one room left, a two bedroom suite. (this was at about 11:30 pm) they discounted the suite from 259 to 159! Gorgeous room and only wish we could have stayed longer! Before we left we had the complementary breakfast and it was wonderful! Will definitely stop again!
Really nice property and spacious room. The complimentary breakfast buffet was quite good. I was surprised they also included complimentary dinner (with free beer and wine) which was okay. We used it for happy hour then went out to Ali Babba mideast food. Very convenient if you're visiting University of Delaware. I would definitely stay here again.
The staff was friendly and the lobby was beautiful. The suite we stayed in was clean and the beds were so comfortable! The complimentary breakfast was very good and a server was on hand to take away plates and bring more food if necessary. The location is great, very close to the University, shops and dining. I would definitely stay here again!
