If you are looking for doilies and the owner fussing over you (with endless stories of local history, etc etc), this is not for you. However, if you would like a comfortable bed, clean rooms, a thorough inventory of any beach needs you may have (from water to sunscreen to beer to bikes, umbrellas, towels and chairs), together with a friendly and available, but nicely hands-off host, we highly recommend.
From the moment we arrived, where we learned from the note at the front desk that our room key was in our door, to when we were able to get an extra beach day in by taking advantage of the outdoor shower (complete with warm water and toiletries), we very much enjoyed the amenities and just-attentive-enough Rick!
Breakfast was plentiful and tasty, with pastries, fresh fruit and hot food if you wanted. Our room had a nice tray and so DH brought back breakfast that we ate outside on our balcony. We were glad we could wake up / nibble in our room rather than only having the option to eat in the common area / at a set time.
Lewes itself - cute and better restaurants than expected (we enjoyed Agave and Striper Bites during our weekend visit). We liked our umbrella-side neighbors on the beach and were impressed that the DE police enforced the rules (namely no dogs on the beach or jet-skis in the swimming area). We walked to the beach (2 1/2 blocks) and to dinner each night, and DH biked to a deli to bring sandwiches back to the beach for lunch.
Overall - great weekend getaway, and would be pleasant for a longer stay as well if we had the time.
The balcony rooms are nice -- each room has its own chairs. Consider west-facing rooms if you want...
