This funky hotel was very clean, with fun furnishings and luxury amenities, and large comfortable suite rooms on the canal in Lewes.
THe location is perfect for walking into the cute town, seeing (and hearing) fishing boats and walking to the beach.
We were not aware that it was not staffed at the front desk 24/7..however they were very gracious, and left our room key in the lockbox out front. This was not the least bit of a problem, but it is critical to inform them if you are coming after 10 pm at night. THis was during October...I don't know what their hours are at different times of the year.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Blue. Our suite (tower suite) was large, nicely decorated, very comfortable and had a perfect view of the canal. The staff was helpful, professional and friendly. The hotel is on the other side of the canal from the main shopping and dining area so is also very quiet. It is a very short walk across the canal bridge to that area.

Perfect for a getaway. Great accommodations...rooms very attractive, comfortable...fireplace!!..balcony overlooking the canal...walking distance to restaurants and shopping. We will definitely stay at Hotel Blue when we return to Lewes. Highly recommend.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. AWFUL SERVICE, The absolute worst hotel experience I've ever encountered. The hotel staff were absent if you needed anything and rude when they were present, which was rare. We arrived to check in and waited for 20 minutes before anyone showed up, and around 5pm, the staff disappeared and didn't reappear until 10 or 11 the next morning, so if you need anything, you're out of luck. No restuaurant, no room service, no staff. It's pretty much a hostel with 90's decor and stained sheets, carpets and furniture, which you may or may not be charged for after you leave. At first it seems like a great little hotel b/c of the size of the room and the 90's decor, but the bed was so disgusting, and there was no one at the hotel front desk so I could change rooms, that I ended up sleeping on the couch, on top of blankets I went and bought at Kmart bc the sheets and bed were that stained and disgusting.

We also were charged for damages after we left, and those "damages" were "stained white towels" which were only used to wipe sand off when we came back from the beach. I guess they expect guests to leave the hotel in the exact state they found it, because I've never heard of anything so ridiculous. We only stayed here because there were no other hotels available and now I know why. You'd be better off to stay in your car.
